Chateau Marmont Bans Actress Jenn Hoffman For Using Twitter, Exposing Celebrity Behavior at its Restaurant, She Says

A Hollywood actress and blogger says she was banned from the Chateau Marmont restaurant for, of all things, tweeting.

Apparently the hotel known for the rock-star behavior of some of its clients couldn't stomach someone punching out a few characters ... on her smartphone.

Jenn Hoffman tells the Weekly she was informed of the ban last night after she attempted to make reservations for a business meeting.

... she tweeted about what she describes as party behavior there by model/actress Rachel Hunter a few weeks ago.

Hoffman later said via Twitter:

I tweeted that I was there & Rachel Hunter was acting nuts, doing splits & trying on other people's glasses. Which she was

She says reps at the restaurant told her they check Google alerts for mentions of the venue and came across her tweets, leading to a one-year ban.

(We emailed a Marmont publicist and called a restaurant manager for comment).

That sure didn't take long for him to downshift to hooking up with another woman did it? He was out by Monday and already screwing some bar sk *ank at Bar Marmont by Thursday. Nice for a guy who's supposedly "heartbroken" and "in seclusion not taking calls" over the scandal. Rob Pattinson is a fake and a cheater in his own right. Deleting my comment won't make any difference.

It's a celeb establishment. It's already assumed there is a certain degree of privacy and respect from not only the employees but from fellow patrons as well. Why on earth would you tweet/blog about whatever a celeb does at the next table and then appear stunned by the ensuing repercussions? Your lucky it was a year and not life, though i'm sure after making your ban public and bringing further attention to the matter you'll find yourself "unofficially" blacklisted in other hotspots as well. Tsk tsk..

In not too many days past, a reporter would have done the same thing as Ms Hoffman, only it would have been that night or the next day and from notes, from memory or second hand by another patron. A celebrity is always a target so if they don't want what they do to be reported, best get into another line of work. By the way, did anyone ask Ms. Hunter if she was bothered by the reports; looks to me that she was just having fun and probably didn't care. The restaurant seems to have made more of this then needed; a private word to Ms Hoffman to please keep her tweets to her self probably would have accomplished the same results.

I think the people at Chateau Marmont need an afternoon of electro-shock. Jenny Hoffman is one of the sweetest people I've known since my ex wife turned into The Exorcist 7 years ago. She is getting the Larry David treatment over a harmless tweet that didn't even mock this "Chateauuu Marmont." Speaking of Larry David, maybe I ought to call up Susie Essman and tell her what happened and see if she's willing to give this "Chateauuu Marmont" an improvised Suzie Greene commentary of this place and how they handle good people.
