Hot, hot, hot.
Last year saw record crowds at the annual Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. This year the three-day party in the desert town of Indio won't see record highs, but it'll be hot.

The National Weather Service is predicting that the peak temp on Saturday in the area will be near 100 (98, to be exact), which is 10 degrees above normal. Friday and Sunday, the other days of the fest, are expected to be in the 90s.

Why?

That high pressure system that's bringing warmth to all of Southern California this weekend.

"Basically we have high pressure and a weak offshore flow occurring through Saturday," says National Weather Service meteorologist Jamie Moker. "The effects will be felt inland in the desert through Sunday."

So that old Coachella uniform of bikini tops and open short-shorts would then be apropos as you're checking out Steve Angello in the Sahara tent.

Two words, children: Water, sunblock.

The rest of SoCal will be warm too, with a high of 84 expected Friday, the NWS's Stewart Seto told us.

Locally, the sun will mellow out by Sunday, with temps expected to be back to springtime norms.
