Coachella Organizers Trying to Find Owners of Lost Car Keys, Cameras, Bags and Cellphones

The keys to Coachella.
One week after the start of Coachella ... and some folks still haven't found their keys.

Don't worry. Festival organizers probably have them in what seems to us to be a massive lost-and-found collection.

Besides keys there are cellphones/smartphones, bags/backpacks and cameras. Let us just take a wild guess:

Had a good time, huh?

Concert promoters say they have already received a few hundred emails asking if they've picked up lost items.

Hello. Yeah, this is your phone. You left me at Coachella.

But it looks like if you can positively ID your goods and give them an address they'll send you your stuff. (Email them).

We like how Honda/Nissan brands appear to represent the largest group of lost keys. And we couldn't find any for Mercedes. Huh.

Party on, fans of economical Japanese cars.

How do you get home w/out your car key, anyway?! Just think, 'Forget the car' and hitch a ride with your mate?

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Maybe they had a friend take them home or they took a taxi. But considering how the Coachella Valley is very far from anywhere, that would have been an expensive taxi trip.

Um, can't people just lose things without being wasted? It's a pretty common occurrence. People lose their cellphones in their living rooms.

You like to assume, Dennis, particularly when it comes to whether people have ingested a substance (e.g., "Raving Without Ecstasy: Is it Even Possible?). It's unbecoming of a reporter.

that's nice but how many arrests and hospitalizations were there, Dennis?

you're letting me down

Strumpling I reported those figures on Tuesday. I noted Coachella:

" ... Saw only 49 arrests and 48 medical transports, Indio, California police and Riverside County fire officials told the Weekly.

For comparison, last summer's controversial Electric Daisy Carnival rave at the L.A. Coliseum saw ...

... more than 200 medical transports, 60 arrests and one drug-related death. (The Los Angeles Times reports that the arrest number is actually more than 100, although LAPD Chief Charlie Beck has cited the 60 number)."

Sorry to not disappoint.

How is it that Coachella saw "only" 49 arrests while you make a big deal out of EDC's 60? That's only 11 more. Given attendance at both events, it's a comparable (tiny) number. Your language is further proof of your anti-rave bias.

Sorry, you can't rely on what an LA Times reporter is saying when the police--who actually have the data--are saying something else. You cannot validly cite that LA Times reporter's story. It's invalid data and it makes no sense to even bring it up, unless you're trying to stretch your story. Which is pretty common for you.

Oh, and I echo what Strumpling said--you need to report on these Coachella arrest and hospitalization data in EVERY STORY (or nearly every story), just like you do for EDC. But then, you'd probably just non-sensically blame it all on people who are into electronica.

You did disappoint. You need to report it in every article, duhh...
