A skater gets air, but not over Westchester. Not yet.
The city of L.A. continues to roll out skate parks, despite recent opposition from neighbors concerned about noise from skateboarders at a West L.A. rec center.

The latest one will see a ceremonial groundbreaking Monday at 11 a.m. at 7000 West Manchester Ave. in Westchester. Local city Councilman Bill Rosendahl, Annenberg Foundation trustee Charles Annenberg Weingarten and skate pros Steve Berra and Eric Koston are all scheduled to be there.

According to a statement:

Motivated by overwhelming research that documents the benefits to both individuals and communities from the installation and integration of a skatepark, explore.org is teaming up with the world's most popular skateboarding website, theberrics.com to bring this dream to fruition.

According to Rosendahl's office, Westchester Park will also see other improvements, including a "universal playground" that will be friendlier to the physically challenged, and parking and tennis court lighting improvements.

The skate park is expected to be done by the end of summer, according to the councilman's office.

Here's a rendering of what it will look like:

I live across the street from this Fiasco. Here's what will happen. NOISE NOISE NOISE, BOOMBOXES, SUBWOOFERS, LITTER< FIGHTS, NOISE NOISE NOISE, DRUGS, HANG OUTS! L.A. is Sceraming..WE DON'T HAVE MONEY , yet they pay for this NIGHTMARE!!! Less than 200 ft from this disaster is a Public Library that has severely limited hours because of budget cuts, but we need a noisy skateboard park. These kids need the Library  more than the skateboard park! There a thousands of areas around here with ridges and curbs and rails for the hot doggers, but only one library near here. What is wrong with you morons at city hall??
