Elizabeth Taylor's FBI Files Released, Reveal Extortion Attempts, Creepy Letters

The FBI released its files on late actress Elizabeth Taylor today following a flurry of Freedom of Information Act requests from the media.

Blogger Michael Petrelis appears to be the first to pick up the release and notes that much of what's in the files pertains to allegations of extortion against the Bel Air celebrity.
Petrelis' summary of what he read:
The records reveal she was subjected to extortion threats over several decades, and that the agents investigated who and how the threats were made. Taylor's file contains nothing else.
Scanning through, the files also contain at least one death threat against the actress, creepy fan mail, and other "foul threats."

Taylor died in March at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A. at the age of 79. She was widely mourned for her early embrace of the AIDS activism community.
