Patron Saint of STDs: The 600-Year-Old Severed Head of St. Vitalis of Assisi Reportedly Comes Home to Los Angeles
Rich people in L.A. collect lots of things -- rap sheets, porn stars, nannies and six-figure cars. But severed, 600-year-old heads? It appears so.

But this isn't just any head, but the reputed noggin of St. Vitalis of Assisi, the patron saint against STDs.
Someone in L.A. bought it at auction over the weekend for ...
... about $5,000.
The head was put up for auction by an Anglo-Irish family in Ireland.
Assisi was Italian hermit and monk who died in 1370. According to Irish Central he went through "years of promiscuity as a youngster" before dying and becoming the patron against diseases affecting the genitals.
So who bought it? They're not saying.
But one of the auctioneers told IrishCentral that it was indeed an "odd-ball" (ya think):
We received phone calls from all over the world about this -- from all sorts of crackpots and oddballs. We received about 100 different bids in advance.
Our guess? Charlie Sheen, of course.
