Parking Enforcement Officers in L.A. Allegedly Solicited Prostitute, Punched Driver, Shoplifted: They're Still On The Job

Parking porn.

Rough spring for L.A. parking enforcement. First a couple of officers were found cavorting in a porn video -- while on-duty. Then City Controller Wendy Greuel last week revealed, among millions of dollars wasted on poor practices, a get-out-of-tickets-free "gold card" program for City Hall elites.

And, so, as parking enforcement chief Jimmy Price stepped down this week amid the controversies, more bad news for the department:

Parking cops have been discovered to have solicited prostitutes -- with one case involving an on-duty officer. Another ...

... allegedly punched a motorist. And yet another was convicted of shoplifting from a Macy's.

The punchline: All of the employees were still on the job this week.

All this according to NBC Los Angeles' Joel Grover, who wraps up May sweeps with the explosive allegations.

The station says it uncovered the allegations via "confidential files, public records and interviews with seven LADOT [Los Angeles Department of Transportation] sources."

One source said of the allegations:

It isn't just a few bad apples. There are a lot of bad apples in the barrel.

Amir Sedadi, acting chief at the LADOT, said the revelations are "a black eye for the entire department."

Ya think?

"A Los Angeles Police officer convicted of sexually assaulting one young woman and soliciting sex from another while on duty was sentenced to 8 1/2 years in state prison Thursday". The City of LA has serious systemic problems. Each time they are caught, they claim that it is just a few bad apples. I'd say there are only a few good and honest employees. The rest never get caught.

Planning Department employees caught by the media driving a city car to lunch in another city. Not one has been fired. City of LA is corrupt from top to bottom. This will be the legacy of Antonio, the worst Mayor in the City's history.

Antonio Villaraigosa should resign - he does not deserve to continue as mayor of this city. He is a self serving incompetent opportunist who has never once given an intelligent answer the the media about any of the city's problems. I doubt though that he has the presence of mind or the strength of character (Duh!) or the respect for the city to hand over responsibility to someone who has the ability (and the intelligence) to clean it up. It seems that every city agency top to bottom is corrupt, rife with dinshonest people, to put it mildly, and leeches who are sucking the city coffer dry for their own entertainment. Antonio has such a grandiose image of himself, you can tell by looking at him and observing his behavior, he is ego driven only - thinks he is king of the hill. Nothing has changed since I worked there nearly 30 years ago... back when traffic officers were still part of the LAPD... there were a lot of bad apples then both sworn and civilian... but no one wanted to listen and instead they tried to shoot the messenger... I'm just sayin'...
