Banksy really feels L.A.
We wouldn't blame Banksy if he hated L.A.

After all, we took down his art, stole it and covered it up during his stay in our fine city in winter in the weeks leading up to (and after) the Academy Awards (where his documentary Exit Through the Gift Shop was up for an Oscar).

Well, he likes us. He really does. The Museum of Contemporary Art announced Thursday that ...

... Banksy is paying your admission to see its groundbreaking "Art in the Streets" exhibition on Mondays. All you have to do is show up to the Geffen Contemporary in Little Tokyo and check it out.

Here's what Banksy said:

I don't think you should have to pay to look at graffiti. You should only pay if you want to get rid of it.

The British street artist has you covered on Mondays through the end of the exhibition, Aug. 8.

MOCA director Jeffrey Deitch.

MOCA is very grateful to Banksy for his unprecedented gesture. Art in the Streets is drawing record attendance, and opening it up to everyone will have a lasting impact on communities in Los Angeles, many of whom have not been to the museum before.

So, eh, get up. And go.
