Electric Daisy Carnival Rave Organizers Say Las Vegas Party Was a Rousing Success

Fans at EDC in Vegas.
In a statement issued late Tuesday, Insomniac Events, the L.A.-based organizer of the three-day Electric Daisy Carnival rave in Las Vegas, said it was a rousing success.

This after EDC moved to Vegas following controversy for its L.A. edition at the Coliseum one year ago. While the two events' arrest numbers (60 vs. 60) and medical emergencies (226 at the Coliseum vs. more than 330 in Vegas -- officials have yet to release Sunday's medical figures) were similar, no one died, as was the case for EDC in L.A. last year and in Dallas earlier this month.

Here's what Insomniac Events communications director Erika L. Raney said:

Insomniac is beyond thrilled with the success of our 15th Annual Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas this past weekend. We are grateful for the support we have received from local law enforcement, the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and especially our fans, both in Las Vegas and throughout the world. We are proud to be able to provide a safe, secure and fun event for all of our attendees, performers, artists and staff. Attendance, including ticket holders, special guests and VIPs, reached an estimated 230,000 for the 3-day festival, and we are already planning for next year.

[LA Weekly's estimates from police and promoters put the attendance figure -- including 72,000 Friday, 80,000 Saturday, and 63,000 Sunday -- closer to 215,000].

A very special thank you to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Clark County Fire Department, and Dr. Dale Carrison and the teams from Medic West, American Medical Response and UMC.

A full economic impact report detailing EDC's positive effect on the Las Vegas community, including jobs and tourism spending, will be available later this summer, as well as some fun statistics from the weekend.

Insomniac is already working on our next events, including the debut of our new Halloween festival, Escape from Wonderland, which will be held on October 29, 2011, at the National Orange Show Events Center, San Bernardino, CA.

Insomniac Events CEO Pasquale Rotella has said he wants EDC to return to its native Los Angeles.

Hey Dennis,

We don't forget.  You are still a fucking scumbag!

Maybe try figuring some principles to base your little blurbs of instead of pandering to whatever seems like a hot idea.

Hi my name is Dennis Romero and I am an ass.

Hey.  Dennis.  Reality check.  You are not a medical professional, a city official, an EMT, a trash collector, or anyone even vaguely making a contribution to society.  You are a blogger for a free weekly events listing, and a pretty terrible one at that.  So stop putting on airs  and attempting to put forth your own definition of a medical emergency.  It's unbecoming for someone so ignorant to act like he knows what he's talking about.  Especially when it's so transparent to *everyone* that you're talking out of your ass and desperately grasping at straws to justify both your opinions and your paycheck.By the way, Dennis.  When are you going to delineate exactly what those "medical emergencies" were?  You like FACTS, remember?  So what are the facts about those "medical emergencies"?  Probably a lot of dehydration.  But that wouldn't lend itself to your "raves are hell pits" story line, would it?  Oh, those pesky facts getting in the way of your delusion.

You're writing for LA Weekly. Put this crap back in Las Vegas Weekly. EDC isn't in Los Angeles anyore, Dennis. I know you're upset, but it's time to get over it, you little slut!

It was very clear you wanted Insomniac to get EDC out of Los Angeles, and they did. Just because they're based in LA is a pretty weak excuse to keep writing articles about it.

I know you're sad there were no deaths for you to ejaculate all over your blog about, but seriously, it's time to move on.
