Two students missing in Woodland Hills
Two students last seen "leaving for school" at 7:20 a.m. (but never quite making it) yesterday morning in a gold 1996 Mercedes-Benz still haven't turned up at school, or otherwise.

The Afghani boys, 17-year-old Yousef Akbari and 14-year-old Amin Najib, are enrolled at El Camino Real High School, a high-income, high-performing LAUSD campus that has wormed its way into the news more than any other in 2011. (See: The school police officer who shot himself and lied about it; various gun scares in the paranoid aftermath; and the rich Valley parents who want to leave cruddy LAUSD behind for a charter operator.)

Anyway, the LAPD's Topanga Division released an alert on Akbari and Najib last night...

... identifying the younger boy as wearing a red jacket, white shirt and blue jeans, and the older boy as having a "slim build" and "light complexion." Their mental condition is listed as "good" and the license plate on their Benz is 4PSL470.

Sounds like two restless Woodland Hills teens may have just been craving a little open-road adventure, but you never know.

So, urges the LAPD: "If you have information that can assist in helping safely locate Yousaf Akbari or Amin Najib please call 911 or 818-756-4800."
