Casey Anthony: Echoes of OJ Simpson For Veteran Trial Watchers

Categories: Crime

Casey Anthony.
Ah, where would we be without our summertime, white-lady crime? In this edition we have not a missing Anglo female, but a woman accused of murdering her 2-year-old daughter.

And after the not guilty verdict form Florida in the Casey Anthony case, we haven't seen this much public outrage over a the jury's allegedly shortsighted decision since a man named O.J. Simpson was widely believed to have gotten away with murder right here in L.A. even though he was acquitted in the stabbing deaths of ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend, Ronald Goldman.

Even TMZ lawyer-in-residence Harvey Levin, who covered that crazy O.J. trial in 1995, tweeted:

having covered OJ Simpson ... nothing really shocks me anymore. but this verdict really surprises me....especially how quickly it came

As in the O.J. trial, Anthony's prosecution was dependent on circumstantial evidence -- and the jurors weren't buying it.

Authorities argued that baby Caylee was suffocated with duct tape and that Casey claimed the girl had gone missing to cover up the alleged murder.

Defense attorney Cheney Mason told the media -- the 25-year-old woman's tale of partying after the girl's death made the likes of 48 Hours Mystery -- I told you so.

I hope that this is a lesson to those of you that have indulged in media assassination the last three years.

Casey Anthony did see a conviction on four counts of lying to investigators and could see four years behind bars when she's sentenced Thursday.

Simpson was framed in a fraudulent trial intended to create useful racial animus or controlled hostility for future useful purposes and allow the conspirators to enrich themselves.  OJ Simpson was entering the backseat of a limo at 11 PM while his wife allegedly spoke on the telephone to her mother.  Marcia Clark and Johnnie Cochran turned the time back to 9:37 PM with the blessing of Bob Shapiro giving Simpson the time now to commit murder.  They concealed alleged exculpatory evidence from the jury in the form of the Juditha Brown phone records that would have exonerated Simpson of these murders and the purgatory he's been subjected during these past 16 years.  Here's Johnnie Cochran's admission to the concealment http://youtu.be/Bk3Muy_MgJA and here's a book that goes much deeper into the conspiracy http://www.amazon.com/Pursuit-...

A big difference is that Casey Anthony caused the death of her child.  OJ Simpson covered up the murder of his ex-wife by his son, Jason.

Shocking, absolutely shocking.  Well, Casey, looks like you're free to to party all you want.  But there will come a day when you'll let it slip that you did kill Caylee and literally got away with murder.  Then we'll see if you can escape the hangman's noose again.

Yeah, I know.  She can't be tried again for the same crime.  She has to commit another crime in order to be tried again.  I hope she does so she can actually be sent to prison for life and Caylee can at least be avenged that way.

The US Justice System needs a makeover.  There was more than enough evidence to lock her up.  Why lie to the police, make up an abduction, and notify authorities 30 days after Caylee has been missing?  To hide evidence of murder!!!  Strands of hair and strong decomposition odor in the trunk is plenty to put Casey away right there.  Who the hell has that kind of smell in their trunk?  If you ask where Casey got the chloroform, the answer was that she searched for it online on where to find it and best ways to use it for a specific purpose.  She lied over and over again and it got her freedom.  Casey better leave this country because she will be vilified as long as she lives in the U.S.  She'll never find a job, she can't go back to her parents, and the public wants to lynch her.  Somebody as crazy as her who makes up fictitious people should be locked up anyways.

This is what happens when you convene a jury of 12 people who are too stupid to be able to find some way to avoid jury duty.  Having heard the one alternate jury member who made a statement in support of the verdict, it's clear this jury was the bottom of the barrel.

"this verdict really shocks me"   Really, let's look at the facts. The prosecution failed to establish a cause of death, time of death or even a compelling motive.  Is Casey Anthony a liar, or bad person. Probably, but that isn't sufficient evidence to convict her of premeditated murder. The prosecutions case was so piece meal that any experienced trail lawyer could have shredded it.  Example: If Casey used chloroform in the murder, where did it come from ?  Last time I checked it's not something that you can buy at a local store.  But let's say she's a genius and made some in her kitchen. One of the prosecution own experts testified that the amount of chloroform detected in Casey's car trunk was consistent with using Fabrese!!   Also, hair samples from Caylee should no traces of chloroform. And, what was the grandfather's attempted suicide after Cayllee's death all about?  A case based on purely circumstantial evidence, better have STRONG circumstantial evidence. This case didn't have it and the jury returned a very intelligent verdict. Bravo!

As one of the many people enraged at this verdict, and one of the few who've calmed down by now, I'm venturing a guess that the jurors just jumped to conclusions too quickly. They probably sat down and thought: "Hmmm, based on this evidence, it doesn't QUITE look like Casey was the murderer." However, if this was the case, I would've spoken up and said "Whoa, guys, let's not jump to conclusions just yet. Let's just sit down and think about this for a few days. They're gonna hate us if we just come out and say she's innocent." Unfortunately, they went straight to the agreement that the evidence wasn't sufficent enough to say that she committed the crime. Naturally, I want to suspect someone else did it based on the verdict, but if the case goes cold--which it probably will-- we'll blame the jury jumping to conclusions too quickly.

I think you watched 12 angry men too much. In the most covered case .. maybe in country history, i dont think jurors would yawn and try to find ways to go out earlier so they would not miss a football game.
