One Fatally Injured after Speeding Pedestrian Collision near Indian School Road

PHOENIX, AZ (May 3, 2024) – One pedestrian died early Thursday morning, in a high-speed crash on 35th Avenue and Indian School Road. Police arrived to the scene around 5:15 a.m., on April 23rd.

A man pushing a cart was hit by a northbound pickup truck, causing the cart and its contents to be thrown into the southbound lanes, where it collided with another car.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of injuries sustained. The driver of the pickup remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.

Emergency crews temporarily closed the area for cleanup. No arrests were made after initial investigations.

Further information about the crash, vehicles, or victims hasn’t been released yet. At this time, authorities suspect speed played a role in the deadly crash. More details will be shared as they become available.
