A middle-aged motivational speaker who ran her own business in Sherman Oaks -- the Communication Arts Company -- died in a car accident on the I-40 early Monday morning, City News Service reports.

Mona Marie Miller, 50, was at the wheel of a 2001 Ford SUV carrying three other passengers. CHP officials say the fatal single-car crash occurred because the vehicle's back left tire deflated while Miller was driving, just outside Barstow.

Due to the flat...

... Miller lost control around 1:30 a.m., swerving off the desert roadway and rolling the car several times before landing at the bottom of a dirt embankment.

As she was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt, Miller was ejected on impact, and died from her injuries. Her three passengers survived, but are all suffering from minor to major injuries.

Miller's office is located in the Valley along a busy stretch of Ventura Boulevard; the Communication Arts Company website advertises her as an inspirational speaker and a business coacher.

Here's an appearance she made on the Gregory Mantell Show in 2007, on the topic of frenemies. Her bit starts at about 10:45:

On the Facebook page for Miller's company, Julie Moore writes:

"... the world isn't a darker place because you aren't physically here the world just got brighter because we can spread your 'Monaisms' and message of love throughout the world I miss you Mona Miller but I know you will hug me when I come to heaven and even though I was having panic attacks about dying I know you are there to help me through because you are my guardian angel."

One of the greatest people I have ever known. She helped me through some of the toughest times of my young life. I lived next to her and I was a close friend of her son for years. She was the warmest, kindest woman I have ever met, and she lived to help people.

Goodbye Mona Miller, you will be sorely missed.

Mona Miller was a beautiful soul. She loved to teach and guide people towards their true selves. She never judged you. She made the most difficult subjects feel light and silly. She was a blessing, a messenger with the message of love and forgiveness.

I am so grateful for the time that I spent with her and will miss her dearly.
