'Road Rage' Crash in Downtown L.A. Leaves Bicyclist Dead; Drivers Questioned, Released
In what is being called the possible result of two drivers feuding their way down 8th Street in downtown L.A., an unidentified bicyclist, age 62, was killed last night.

LAPD Officer Karen Rayner told the Los Angeles Times that "the drivers apparently had some dispute while heading north on Figueroa Street."
From there, they both turned left on 8th Street, and as they neared Francisco Street...
... the male driver of a Chevy Avalanche allegedly tried to pass a young woman, who was driving a little Kia compact, on the right-hand side. That's when the nighttime bicyclist took a fatal hit.
It was 8 p.m., and traffic was still chaotic -- even "bumper-to-bumper," reports KTLA. The accident occurred near the entrance to the 110 freeway.

Though the 37-year-old Chevy driver was detained at the scene, he has reportedly since been released. The 23-year-old Kia driver was never detained -- only questioned.
The L.A. County Coroner's Office says it has not gotten word of the death yet, so the investigation must still be underway.
