Grim Sleeper Suspect's Voice Recording Sought: Cops Think Lonnie Franklin Jr Made Creepy 911 Call Exposing Victim No. 3
One of the creepiest aspects of the Grim Sleeper serial murder case has been the 911 call in 1987 alerting cops that someone threw a body out of van (audio after the jump). The man's voice even gave a plate number. And when officers arrived to the alley in the 1300 block of East 56th Street in South L.A., they found the corpse of 23-year-old Barbara Ware.

As Lonnie Franklin Jr., a shade-tree mechanic who lived on 81st Street, faces charges in the homicides of 10 women, the LAPD obtained a court order yesterday to obtain a recording of the 58-year-old's voice to determine if he indeed made that call.

... that some of Franklin's acquaintances who have been interviewed as part of the case have indicated they think the 911 caller's resembles the suspect's voice.
Yesterday it was reported that the L.A. County District Attorney's office will seek the death penalty.
After unleashing more than 100 photos of women that cops found in Franklin's house, cops alleged that he might be linked to eight more homicides. He has also been fingered in one attempted murder.
Cops nabbed him last summer after claiming that DNA they collected from his son matched evidence found on one of the victims.
What does a match to the 1987 911 call do? Well, besides creeping us out, it could add to the alleged pile of evidence in the case.
