Women Drivers Are Worse Than Men, According to Study

I totally agree, I would say just based on a cars body language (something i dont even think most women are perceptive to) i can immediately tell if a woman is behind the wheel before i see the driver. They cant make decisions. They might be okay at directing themselves on the road but have no consideration or awareness of drivers next to them, behind them, or in front of them. They lack road curtisy because they arent paying attention. I am generalizing, when i say they, i mean most women, i know some good ones but most make me nautious when im in the car with them. Men get into accidents because they expect women to drive better and then end up having to avoid the women when they cant make up their minds. Dont bother responding im not going to look back at this thread ever.

I believe it was George Carlin who said something like this: "Did you ever notice that anyone driving faster than you is a maniac, and that anyone driving slower than you is an idiot?  Well then, how are any of us supposed to get anywhere safely with all these maniacs and idiots on the road?"

I don't know if it is true that women are worse drivers than men, but I do know that many young people drive like crap. They are, besides being inexperienced drivers, generally rude, reckless, and impatient. there are of course exceptions to this, but when some dingbat almost gets me killed, they're usually young people, often on the cell or smart phone and too busy to be paying attention to driving.

Damn y'all, its simple as this. Men drive more (i assume due to the want to be in control, to be head of the pack yah know) and thus get much more practice. THey also tend to drive more aggressively (for much the same reason) which gets u into less car accidents but worse ones when it happens (a few commentators have already stated this). It seems the best driving style is a merge of both the fast and assertive style & the safe and steady used at the right times.

However, a lot of y'all just seem happy for the chance to jump on a college backed reason to get give back some pain. Its not if ur a dude or a chick, it's if you pay attention to the thousands of other crappy drivers out there and take the side road around 'um. Trust me, I know there's some damn sh*tty drivers out there! But most of um are just doing something stupid like txting.

Can't say I agree with this. I have been in 2 major accidents and both were caused by a male. One I was rearended because he admitedly was not paying attention and the other was a head on with a kid going 45 in a 15 mph zone in the rain in his daddy's sabb. I myself have not had a single ticket or accident. In over 10 years, and for 6 of those years was an out of district bus driver so I was on the road a lot. Typically they say women are better than men because we are better multi-taskers, usually juggling kids, errands, apointments, etc. Also don't forget to look at one fact, the location where this study was done, if they had expanded their study they may have had different results...

Women are well known to have more accidents, but they tend to be minorcollisions which are small and inexpensive for insurance companies, mentend to have much worse collisions.

For example I have been driving 5 years and have pranged the car twice,both were simple new driver mistakes done while parking once with abarrier and once with another empty car - stupid and easily avoidableyes, dangerous no. My brother on the other hand has been driving a yearand a half he has had one car accident, but it was a collision withanother car (though luckily no one was hurt) and was £50 short of aninsurance write off, much more expensive (for both us and the insurancecompany) then both of my prangs combined.

Men are also statisically responsible for a much higher preportion ofserious injuries and deaths caused by traffic accidents then women dueto the nature of the accidents they tend to have.

Well, I may be a worse driver, given this study of only 6 crashes in one city, but I pay a lot less in insurance than men for a lot longer. And that is a fact. U mad now ladies?

Is it a fact? In order to make the drivers stay awake behind the wheel Russian scientists have invented a gadget and this will definitely improve road safety.

not biased at all actually.  what is biased however is the fucking 20% increase in insurance premiums MALES have to pay.  Illegal discrimination if you ask me.  Time to turn the tables on the females now insurance companies!

Please cite sources. U of M (University of Michigan) is vague. Is the study published? Is it peer-reviewed. Was it just a group of undergrad students?
