Sesame Street
Big Bird, perplexed by the letter 'X.'
Poor kids who dialed up the YouTube channel of Sesame Street yesterday looking for their favorite Elmo and Big Bird videos were instead treated to content said to have been brought to them by the letter "X."

As in porn, of the variety mostly produced right here in L.A.

The play on the show's alphabetic themes, complete, apparently, with raunchy, adult fare, didn't last long:

Google-owned YouTube took it down, and the page remained down last last night. YouTube issued this statement:

Our channel was compromised and we are presently working with YouTube/Google to restore our original content. We always strive to provide age-appropriate content for our viewers and hope to resolve this problem quickly.

CNN reported that one of the YouTube users ascribed to the hacked page, MrEdxwx, stated on his own page that he didn't do it:

I did not hack Sesame Street. I am an honest YouTuber.

The great Sesame Street hacking of 2011 then, remains a mystery. Brought to you by the letters WTF.
