This article makes me cringe.  Am I the only one who found it just a wee bit racist? Especially the off-handed aside, "If you squint your eyes, the cloud-gazer even looks a little like Michelle!" and the condescending gem, "strong-black-person-gazing-majestically-into-the-heavens kick." I am in disbelief that comments like this exist in the LA Weekly. Politics aside, comments like that have no place in this decade.

If you came here from the Drudge Report, you should know that nobody claims this guy as their own anymore. His PR firm has inserted him in the middle of this to sell t shirts. He is a hack artist who bites (steals) from other artists without giving credit. He also sends all of the production and screen printing of his t shirts from his company OBEY overseas instead of keeping jobs here in the US. 

I am a screen printer and the quantities of shirts that he produces would keep his printing costs as low as .20 per shirt for a full color print. He is full of BS, and now he is the poster child for this slacker movement. I am a liberal, and I think this movement is a total joke.

Mike has actually spent the night in the factory many times to help make sure the production items were what he wanted. He describes the set-up as similar to college dorms with private bathrooms and lounge areas with T.V’s. I feel it is irresponsible to generalize about all factories in China or India. Look at the breadth of working conditions in the U.S., is it not logical that there is a range of conditions in other countries as well?
