Teen Prostitute From Southern California Found Working Tijuana Streets

As we've noted, it's sweeps time for TV news in L.A. So you can expect a lot of typically sensational reporting (CBS2 found a city worker buying alcohol before heading to the mayor's house, for example).

NBC Los Angeles' look into Tijuana prostitution this week, however, came up with something unusual:

An American girl -- a 16-year-old from Southern California -- working the streets of TJ's notorious Zona Norte.

Prostitution in Tijuana is de facto legal, and thus ...

... the scene there provides evergreen fodder for the sweeps camera crews looking to find pervy American men paying for sex.

Finding an underage girl from Riverside is a different story.

Reporter Antonio Castelan said he paid a pimp for an encouter with a girl, and that the teen he calls Najeri from Riverside was produced. NBC L.A. says she was being "forced to have sex" and that her customers are often Americans.

The price of an encounter is said to be $40.

Castelan writes that he was tempted to make off with the girl -- to rescue her -- but that the drug cartels' involvement in sex trafficking changed his mind:

The sex trade in Tijuana is closely linked to the region's violent drug cartels - sex trafficking of children is thought to be the third-highest revenue generator for the cartels after the drug trade and gun smuggling, according to the commission.

While Tijuana's red light district has been a beacon to Americans since the 1920s, when Prohibition sent Hollywood celebrities down south in search of booze, horse racing and girls, NBC L.A. says the business is now seeping across the border:

The illegal sex trade is a growing export from the U.S. to Mexico ...

Of course, the numbers behind claims of sex trafficking are in question. As for the girl? You'll have to tune in at 11 p.m. to find out more.

As the photographer of the picture, I'm pretty certain that only one of the girls in it (with her back to camera, BTW) is a prostitute...

May I point out that, while prostitution IS legal in TJ, to be a legal prostitute in Tijuana you HAVE to have a health card, which you can't get if you're under 18! (you also have to pass tests for VD's, including AIDS...)

There is so much underage illegal sex trade going on here in the usa why go to over the border at all. And yes if they really wanted to help the girl they should have taken the risk. But its all about the story. Why don't you do a story about the online sex wars with sites like thatmall.com and eros.com and others flooding the internet with providers.

Let's break down what's really happened here. While the video does not show the girl in question's face, it shows her body. Her chubby and unattractive body. Please, drug cartels are not kidnapping ugly fat black chicks to work the streets of Tijuana. Gringos leave their respective city because they don't want to be fucking ugly fat black chicks. The far more likely story here is that this chubby attention whore fell in love with a shitstain Mexicano living in Rivertucky. When Jorge Luis Ramirez Gonzalez Martinez was deported, she ran away because she had to be with her true love. Jorge found himself strapped and then pimped this chubby chica on the streets of Tijuana. While she loves him so, she's just a piece of garbage to him and now at least he can cash in on her. Why didn't the reporter "rescue her"? Cause the ho doesn't want to be rescued, she'll continue to be pimped and it's her fault. Notice no follow up stories to be found regarding this puta being "rescued"?

A little harsh ahi, but somewhat right and wrong. The poor girl might've had a messed up life.

Chuck Norris wouldn't have left her there.

So he chose not to rescue her, due to his fear of cartel?  What an A-hole!He could have brought her to border police and not done the story and rescued her.
