I hope the following helpsI feel sad for you all because you confuse what subsequent people did that was and is not consistant with a GOOD religious philosophy. I too was more agnostic than religious, however, I decided to study all religions, method of governances and cultures. I concentrated on studying the founders history and life. It is a mistake to not do this as there are many examples of the negative things that subsequent followers did in the name of there founder, with the exception of one founder (Mohammad). For example; The Catholic POPE violates the very essence as to what Jesus preached and stood for, however Christianity is the teachings of Jesus and not the POPE. A good religion, such as christianity as taught by Jesus, and not the POPE, helped us lead to a better moral life. A good book to read to better understand this is by D.James Kennedy - What if Jesus had Never Been Born. Without a good philosophy you will have more chaos, anarchism and people who are only out for themselves. This is Human Nature not kept at bay by a good philosophy. You do not have to go to church to be good but do not count on nature do teach you good morals. You just have to find the right group that persuades thru education and not demands. And you are right in that Islam is incompatible with The Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights and our Constitutution. as it is a form of a Theocracy which means it is governance, and the religious aspects are a subset of it. I believe the problem is bigger than anything stated here because the majority of people do not understand the difference between governance, culture and religion. This will affect court decisions, so it is important to once and for all define these words and define the major difference between each word. It took me 6 months to do that. An example will help. A woman signed a dress code before working for Disney. After a while she wanted to wear a head scarf as a religious requirement.. She was offered other positions, but refused and her lawyer stated this was a religious right. The lawyer is WRONG as the dress code is born out of culture, and the middle east weather. It is not religious. I can name 100's of things that people think are religious, but are not, they are part of a culture; and this applies to all religions.The problem is that most people grew up in families that had a religion and culture and it becomes part of ones identity. To change it by saying it is evil will not work. Education is the answer if it is unbiased and historically true. BUt some religions, like Islam, reject studying other religions. I beleive that the next world war will be fought over three things - Method of governance, Religion and Scarcity of Resources. I hope the good side wins, an so do they!!!

Is it now within the powers of the government to force companies to purchase advertising? Where does the intrusion and strong-arm tactics of this government end? Most religion preaches bigotry, racism and prejudice. I was raised Roman Catholic, and it stopped making sense as soon as I was able to reason. There should be a rule (not law) against raising children in a church, synagogue or mosque. It's all brainwashing before a child reaches a point where he/she can reason on his/her own. You can be the smartest kid, mastering every teaching of your religious leader, and turn out to be the most ignorant person in the room (or on the thread) Organized religion will destroy the world. Dear Senator Lieu,For the past several days I have seen you in the news opposing Lowes decision to stop supporting a Muslim oriented TV show. I consider myself a strong Democrat and fairly liberal but I AM COMPLETELY AGAINST YOUR COMMENTS AND POSITION! I believe that Lowes has the right to spend their money (within the law) as they see fit. If I support the local Baptist Church are you going to tell me that I also have to support the local mosque? You are fotunate that you do not represent the Antelope Valley as you would certainly get a huge backlash on your position and a number of us would be voting against you in your next run for office. In Lowes case it seems to be a business decision since they are getting strong opposition to their support of the TLC program. It would be foolish for them to support a program that their customers are against. This is America and boycotts are legal. People who think a program is sexist, racist, or supports a lifestyle the viewers are against then it is their right to boycott that program and to let their feelings be know to advertisers who maybe supporting the program. Personally, from what I have seen of the show it is mainly a vehicle for a muslim minority to complain about descrimination and whine about how tough life is for them. I doubt they are going to get any great outporing of sympathy from the majority of Americans. I say let Lowes spend their advertising dollars where they want and let politicians (like yourself) keep their noses out of the matter. Maybe if the politicians in Washington D.C. and Sacramento spent a little more time doing the job that we sent them to do and less time trying to stir up trouble things would be getting done instead of having legislative gridlock.

You may think this is a religion, but is it? I have studied the definitions of Method of Governance, Culture and Religion. Once you understand the differences between the three words, and study the Qur'an, Islamic Law and Mohammads life history, you can state that Islam is not a religion, for it is a Theocratic form of governance as formulated by Mohammad and his followers. What kind of a person racks up almost 15 Trillion in debt, which causes our dollar to plummet in value, causing an even deeper recession due to devaluing our currency and increasing inflation. Our american men and woman fghting for our freedom come in all religions: including Islam. There is a mosque at Fort Hood in San Antonio and the likes else where. The military is not 100% Christian... wake up... Americans come in all colors and religions. I am Muslim and all my kids have served in the military, including tours in Iraq.
