Mitt Romney: America's First Mexican President?

Categories: WTF

mittromney com mitt romney.JPG
'I'm staying on this side of the border.'
We always knew that, with Barack Obama blazing the trail for African Americans, someday Latinos would get their first president too.

What we didn't know is that it could actually be ... Mitt Romney!?

Ay, dios mio. Turns out that sometime Southern Californian Mitt has deeper Mexican roots than a cactus. And tomorrow some of L.A.'s most powerful political leaders, one of them highly Latina, are holding a news conference to denounce his anti-immigrant ways.

His father, George Romney, was born in 1907 in the Mexican state of Chihuahua.

According to an NBC report, the Republican presidential candidate still has ...

... a whole branch of ... family living south of the border, including his second cousin Leighton Romney, and about 40 other relatives descended from religious pioneers who first traveled to Mexico 125 years ago.

Because his dad's a wab a south-of-the-border native, Romeny could actually be a Mexican citizen if he so desired.

Orale.

Except that, like almost all self-respecting candidates for the Republican nomination, Romney appears to hate Mexicans (and that would technically include himself, que no?).

On Wednesday all-powerful L.A. king-maker Maria Elena Durazo of the LA County Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO, and area Congresswoman Judy Chu are said to be taking part in a local press conference to decry Romney's opposition to the Dream Act, which would allow illegal immigrant children to attend college and earn citizenship.

Okay, to be fair, Romney isn't ethnically Latino that we know of. His family seems to have kept the bloodlines free of those pesky, brown native genes, just like those Spanish-surnamed folks from New Mexico. (Congrats on dodging all that dark-meat action, people. That's will power).

But, still, one might think that El Romneyo might have a little sympathy for his familia down south.

Nope. In November Senor Romney joined the conga-line of anti-Latino sentiment infecting the GOP, saying that the undocumented should be ...

... going to their home country, applying for citizenship or permanent residency just like everybody else, and getting back in the line.

They should have to get in the same line with everybody else who wants to come here legally.

To which we say, Tu padre!

Just kideen.

But seriously, NBC goes on to report that La Familia Romney first went to old Meh-Hee-Ko not to flee religious persecution against Mormons in the U.S., but to flee prosecution for polygamy.

Mexico's a great place for that. You know what Mexicans call hombres with many women? Mexicans. Chale!

NBC:

Romney's great grandfather, Miles Park Romney, led that first expedition to escape not persecution but prosecution for polygamy, or what Mormons called 'plural marriage.' After polygamy ended, the family remained in Mexico.

(And Romney calls out Newt for his straying eyes?).

Papa Romney came back the U.S. to flee the Mexican revolution, apparently, and had infant Mitt in Detroit. Can you say "anchor baby?"

His cousins still live in Mexico, content and Christian. Their one complaint? Mitt never visits.

Dennis,

I know your intention was to be funny and hoped people find you witty with your mentions of "pesky brown genes" and "dark meat action" but really, if you want to stop others to look down on you, behave like you're worth to be looked at from the same level.

Illegal immigration hurt everyone at the end of the day and I don't know why you are having a hard time understanding that if one broke the law, one should not be rewarded simply because he/she has broken the law longer than other people who may not have been born close enough to the US to break the US law by crossing the border by car or feet.

Is it really difficult to understand that it's quite hypocritical to demand for State and Federal help when one has no regard for the Federal and State laws?

And why should there be a preferential treatment for the "brown" Mexican illegal who wants to go to school for a subsidized rate versus the "brown" Indian from the country of India who no doubt also wants to go to school at a subsidized rate? Should we now differentiate what kind of "brown" gets help from the US? It's clear your answer is the Mexicans but as an Indian, I'll throw in my vote for us "browns" from India, how's that? I'd love to get the rest of family over here, illegally since it's faster, and get benefits AND path to citizenships. Screw waiting in line, those are for the yellows and the white europeans.

there is a process we have here in the states for anyone to be a US citizen.  If you come here by skipping that process, then you should be skipped back to where you came from.

It wasn't like one day I woke up and said " let's go to the U.S. to live for the rest of my life" I was 3 years old. It was not a personal choice you fucking moron !!!!!!!!!!

Mexicans interact with people differently than Americans.  Over there, its more about who you are, than what you say.  Here, we live and die by our words.  I'm not for Obama, but will use an attack on him as example.  Obama stated " John McCains camp stated, if we keep talking about the economy, were going to lose."  Then Romney qoutes Obama," ...if we keep talking about the economy, were going to lose."  He left out the part about McCain, and thus, purposely, mislead the voting public.  Now I have to think, "If this guy is already misleading me and insulting my intelligence before he's in office, what can expect when his powers are even greater?"  more being mislead is what.  So care less about what he says, that what he is, (lied to me once already).  Now Santorum, He said, look at our records and let that be your guide_ i can relate to that kind of logic, makes him seem more honest than Mitt, or as mexicans and hungarians would say, "simpatico."    So Romney is not Mexican, because he deals with people based on words, he knows he can lie and deceive people all day long so long as he doesn't trip over his words.

Regarding immigration, the problem is really a non issue now, Obama deported a large part of them and there are more mexicans leaving than coming over...Mitt will only use this topic now, if he thinks his hate mongering will get him elected.  if he does get elected, he won't do anything to the illegals because the ag lobby is all republicans and he will bow down the powerful republican agriculture lobbyists, just like Bush did  Besides he'd lose on immigration because Obama has been cracking down illegals something strong and isn't weak there.

Well, if Obama can claim Hawaii is his home, then Romney can claim Mexico as his home.

Plus it is a sin for Latino's to vote for Obama since Obama approves of and funds abortions and abortions are against the Catholic faith.

So what? What about solutions to our economic and political problems? When are we going to start encouraging manufacturing in the US? When are we going to stop being the police of the world and throwing away money on foreign aid?

Obama is with the Latinos!!!!  That is deporting them, in three years Obama has deported more imigrants than George W. Bush's Administration did in eight!!!!!!  The joke is on the latinos that voted for OBAMA!!!!!!!!  HAHAHAHAHAHA

It wasn't actually Obama himself. It was Republican states like Arizona, Texas, Georgia, Nebraska that sent the deported the most Latinos due to new laws.

Sorry, that is not true. Ice is federal and it is NOT the states deporting them. It is Obama and his goons....but now that it is time for his election, he will like Latino's again.

This is getting ridculous.  What Mexican's can't have a different point of view any more and what happened to 1st ammendment rights? I'm getting sick and tired of the immigration and politicans trying to control how people think and their opinions.  Pls isn't Elena's husband the union boss they found that was questionable?   Thanks Dennis for reminding me of the old cholo slang from the streets.  Now a days its hard to find someone who grew up in those times that still use those words ese.

Why the fucking fuck do kids have to pay for what their parents did in the past??? This is some bullshit and those kids grew up here and don't know any better than this country. They celebrate the same holidays as legal citizens they are human too you know? They eat, shower, go to school, and everything u can think of that legal citizens do.. They're even smarter and sometimes they look better and value this country more than a typical white boy.. they can't freaking work which pisses them off so much because in school teachers tell them to do good in school but the teachers don't know that they are illegal and can't go.. So what if that kid actually told his teacher he is illegal and that there's no point in doing good in school because my fucking parents brought me here and now I'm fucked!! So yea government thanks for reading this post. And p.s think about that what if you guys weren't born here, I mean you didn't even ask for it. It was just luck and you grew up with an illegal who just like you learned the same fucking subjects in school. And the ones that have papers and are anti dream act are so pathetic, i mean look at you you look so spanish and are uglier than Obama and still have papers. and being actually legal or illegal until you were an adult!

Diegoabm8
Diegoabm8

Sorry obama I did not mean to say you are ugly.. It was a typo I meant Spanish legal citizens are anti dream act and don't supported are so Pathetic because they look soo Spanish and half of the time those peoples last names are like Chavez , Gomez, Rodriguez, ROMNEY!, which are all soo Spanish and yet they consider themselves American so they die their hair blonde and refuse or act as if they only speak one language. But wait if you president obama ever meet a person like this you will know he or she are ashamed of being what they are and are soo fickle!!!!

Romney does not hate the Mexican people.  It is my understanding that he wants those who enter the United States to do so legally.  Opposition to the Dream Act is opposition to giving privileges to foreign students that US students are not given, especially when those foreign students are here because of the illegal activities of their parents.  It should be further remembered that Cesar Chavez also opposed illegal immigration and had a vigilante group like the Minute Mine in his time.  Illegal immigration hurt his efforts to better the circumstances of the farm workers he represented.  This was well reported in the Los Angeles Times when it occurred.  Yet, Chavez is well-regarded within the Mexican community today. Go figure...

There are no U.S. Students in college . Go visit a campus nowadays. Nothing but international students. People from different parts of the world. U.S. students can't even graduate from High School. Don't make me laugh.

Sherrie:

You are correct re: Chavez. But he felt that illegal immigration hurt the prospects for legal immigrants and Mexican Americans.
