A man died in a freak container accident while on the job at the Port of Long Beach yesterday evening, City News Service reports.

The coroner has identified the victim as 47-year-old longshoreman Steven Nicholas Saggiani. A Facebook profile that appears to belong to Saggiani lists him as a San Pedro native and graduate of the Port of Los Angeles High School.

The accident occurred around 6:45 p.m. at Pier J...

... when a container aboard a ship reportedly fell on top of the worker.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is looking into the accident, to determine whether it could have been prevented by safer working conditions.

According to the Los Angeles Times:

The container was apparently being moved by a crane when it fell. The accident was being investigated by the port's Harbor Patrol late Thursday.

Saggiani was also behind a business venture called "That's Right!" clothing. He trademarked the catchphrase and printed it on T-shirts. According to the trademarking website, he lived on Capitol Drive in San Pedro.

That sucks. Every longies nightmare. No one should have to go out like that. It's a long hard road to become a boss. Only 47 too. It's a damn shame. A damn shame.
