Mark Berndt Sex Abuse Case at Miramonte School: Silence by John Deasy, Plus Parent Hysteria, Can Turn This Into McMartin

What a sick article! Why are we still back in the stone ages when it comes to the McMartin case? We came through for victims of the Catholic church and Sandusky, so what is the hold up on this? "Parent hysteria"? Give me a break.

McMartin was a terrible fraud on a lot of people.  False accusations are easy for someone skilled in psychological warfare, or messing with your mind.  Not one thing that was supposed to have happened at McMartin could be proven. 

In the Miramonte and other child abuse cases one thing stands out.  Law breaking by administrators is that thing.  In California, by law, if you do not report a case of child abuse to the proper police agency, and that is not LAUSDPD, within 36 hours you can be charged with a misdemeanor criminal violation with 6 months in jail and/or a $1,000 fine.  If you interfere with an investigation the charges and sentence are the same.  Now, how many administrators should be in jail for not following the law?  This includes Deasy as did he not tell the teachers and staff formerly at Miramonte to not talk to the police?  If so, every time he did that he committed a crime.  Well, let's charge him with those charges.  There are bad teachers.  Anytime you have over 100,000 employees you will have some bad people.  That is total LAUSD employees about 33,000 are teachers now before the next RIFFS.

In the U.S. we are supposed to believe in "Innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt."  When an employee is accused of "child abuse", which is psychological, physical or sexual abuse, First-report to the proper police or sheriff's agency for proper investigation and, if needed, prosecution.  Second-removed from classroom on paid leave as there is no proof.  Third-a proper rapid investigation to preserve the truth or otherwise of the accusation.   Fourth-if prosecutable, prosecute with a judge or judge and jury.  If guilty after appeals then punishment and loss of credential.  The law states you must be insane or convicted to lose your credential.  If innocent-all pay, plus interest and possible penalties, benefits and returned to duty with no black marks.  If found innocent and it was also found that it was done with prejudice I would hope that they would also go into civil court for the damages owed.  I have had LAUSD audited by the California State Auditor,  Oct. 1997, 96121, for teachers being falsly accused of child abuse for whistleblowing and principals stealing student impress funds.  Yes, this happens.  Yes, it still goes on as large numbers of teachers are being falsly accused now.  I know of many situations now.  If this is happening to you, you are not the only one.  Help yourself.  Contact lenny@perdaily.com.

I am not sure that McMartin was false. At the time it was happemimg I fully believed it, but there was not a lot of media coverage that said otherwise. It isn't entirely impossible that satanists would indeed get together and use young sacrifices to appease the appetites of the prince of datkmess. Anton la.Fey, Crowley and Richard Rameriez all represent individuals who gave themselves to the prince of darkness, and we know there are groups that are into this and all kinds of weirdness. But to assume a group of teachers rather randomly assembled would form that kind of alliance defies reason, as most of the teachers at the school appear to Latinas affiliated with Catholic church, christianity or new age wisdom. Deasy cannot be held reponsible for something a school suit did 20 years ago either. He has incriminated himself perfectly well as it is, and he may not have hidden Berndt, but he did not tell parents, endagring their children and he lied repeartly about why he did not inform parents, attempting to blameSheriff Baca & detectives. He interfered in the invetstigation in this case and others and neglected to report Berndt, which is troubling. Moreover there are presently a number of accused pedophiles who remain unreported. . Why? $$$$$$ that is what these people worship.

Mcmartin happened regardless if you believe it or not. Sexual abuse of children happened at Mcmartin Preschool. Survivors exist. They still live in Manhattan Beach. If you're interested in a story find out if these people are still sticking to their stories. What you find might surprise you Jill.

I know I’m too oldto take unpopular positions, but it really disturbs me how quickly people areready to find others “guilty” as charged without knowing any of the facts.  As someone who works in the court system I knowthat there are juries who will convict a defendant without any genuine evidencesimply because it’s the popular thing to do. Our jails are filled with a lot of “bad” people, but there are far toomany innocent people rotting in prisons, too.

This hysteria aboutwhat is going on at the Miramonte Elementary School in Los Angeles is veryreminiscent of the McMartin fiasco which absolutely wrecked the lives of manygood people.  For those too young toremember, the McMartins ran a pre school and were charged with sexual actsagainst children including forcing them to partake in Satanic rituals,etc.  Three trials…I repeat threetrials…and not one person was found guilty of anything.  There was a lot of coerced children’stestimony (most kids will say anything if it pleases their parents); the testimonyof Psychologists and Psychiatrists that the rituals actually took place, andprosecutorial efforts that went well beyond simple misconduct…were allfabrications in the minds of sick people trying to roll with the publicmomentum that had pre-convicted the McMartins.

Closer to thepresent, look at the Michael Jackson trial where virtually the entire worldpre-convicted him of sexual acts with children. There is no doubt that sleeping in the same room with an unrelated childis “stupid”….but if “stupidity” were a crime, 99% of the world would be injail.  We all know that Jackson was found“not guilty”.

Now there is masshysteria concerning an elementary school teacher who gave some of his studentscookies with white icing.  The claim isthat he laced the white icing with his semen, and, if it’s true, I hope theyjail him and throw away the key.  But howlikely is something that outrageous going to be true?  Generally, the more outrageous-sounding thecrime, the less likely it is to be true. I have heard no evidence presented that there actually was semen in oron the icing…only that the teacher took photos of the kids wearing blindfoldsand eating the cookies.  Stupid?  You bet!  Criminal?  We’ll have to wait andsee.

I’m not saying thatthese teachers are not guilty of something…only that we should stop this masshysteria until we know some facts for sure. Don’t rely on the word of the kids who have been coached by theirhysterical parents, by the police and by prosecutors looking to make their reputation.  Let’s let the lab ascertain the facts andthen move forward in whatever the right direction is….without pre-convictinganyone.

He didn't care if they were physically injured and under emotionally & psychologically scarred. He cared about concealing this potentially explosive scandal. Deasy and other school officials are interested in protecting the district from law suits, keeping up appearances and keeping bankroll rolling. At some point, as parents' became irate, Deasy echoed the standard LAPD response :We followed procedure He expects us to believe there is a code, a city ordinance or law that would put the prosecutors case above the welfare of the victim? He calls himself an educator but rather than seeing the Perv behind bars and offering parents guidance in healing their children, Mr. Deasy

And agreesd to dismiss the teacher. He never mentions UTLA. In ine version of the story, someone states Berndt Retired with full pension before he could be dismissed. This and his assertion that some one told him hd get a full pension rings true and it's consistent with district perv policies.now I cannot be sure who was involved or it played out, but from the HP coverage and implications of the revisions themselves, it is obvious there was a major effort to conceal the creep's crimes. Why did Deasy refrain from alerting parents about the children wo had been molested? The photos are so twisted there is every reason to assume he went further. I agree with everything said here, but have to wonder why you aren't demanding some answers about his behavior , which may rival Thompson in terms of its criminal indifference and arrogant lawlessness. Deasy was aware Berndt molested an undisclosed number of youngsters last year, when detectives alerted him about the disgusting photographs.
