Time Warner Cable Launches 'Ryan Gosling on Demand' for Valentine's Day

From "The 20 Most Flawless, Perfect Pictures of Ryan Gosling at the Airport." Really.

You're welcome, Time Warner, for the free publicity. Don't get used to it. But this time, you knew exactly how to rope a lady blogger into covering your clunky, last-century cable services: all Ryan Gosling, all the time.

Gosling's marketability goes so far beyond hot-young-actor. These last couple years, he's become the Internet's ultimate girl meme -- especially via Tumblr. Call him the porn star of romance.

"Ryan Gosling on Demand" month? Genius.

Though Time Warner Cable (based right here in El Segundo) is very much on the dinosaur end of a pending ice age/rebirth for entertainment tech, we've got to give this PR team some credit for picking up the Gosling meme and running with it. YOU TOTALLY GET US.

In honor of Valentine's Day, the following films will be available on demand until February 27 (damned leap year):

• Remember the Titans
• Murder by Numbers
• The Notebook
• Fracture
• Lars and the Real Girl
• Crazy, Stupid, Love
• The Ides of March
• Drive

Swoons all around. Especially for that last one -- the happy-sad love story of a man and his Los Angeles shortcuts. (And we don't know whom we fell for harder: Gosling or the gorgeous neon spread of this city we call home.)

In an awesome twist of co-strategy, Sony Pictures also just released the first seven minutes of Drive for online viewing. So this should hold y'all over until you get home from work:

Update: Wait, what? No Blue Valentine? On Valentine's Day? What kind of tribute is this?

Maybe Time Warner thought it best to fence balding-Gosling out of the lineup, so as not to kill any girl boners, but F that -- a true Ryanette embraces his white-trash skull spots like a champ.
