Roxy Borboa, South Gate 16-Year-Old, Reportedly Shot Dead While Waiting in Car Outside Party
A shootout in South Gate last night took the life of an apparently innocent 16-year-old sitting in a car nearby.

Friends identify the victim on Twitter as Roxy Borboa-Galindo. (The L.A. County Coroner cannot confirm her identity at this time.) And Mike Perez, a family friend, told NBC Los Angeles last night that "She's a sweet girl. Everybody loved her. Everybody liked her. She was just in the wrong place at the wrong time."
It appears Borboa just turned 16 on Sunday -- and Perez says plans for her Sweet Sixteen party were still in the works.
According to the family friend, the shooters were targeting two males in the vehicle with Borboa:
"Some other guys started an argument with them, some kind of fight," he tells the news station. "They tried to leave, and as soon as they started taking off they started shooting."
Reports indicate that no one was injured besides the young female passenger. The deadly bullet apparently passed through the rear window and hit Borboa in the head.

The South Gate Police Department confirmed this morning to City News Service that after being shot around 9:30 p.m., the 16-year-old died in the wee hours this morning at St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood.
The two males in the car reportedly tried to drive Borboa to the hospital themselves, but ended up stopping near Magnolia and Alpine and letting paramedics take it from there.
The group of friends had attended a party near Dakota and Gardendale in South Gate -- some four miles east -- reports NBC LA.
On the night she died, Borboa Tweeted, "St8 juss killin brain sails lol."
On what appears to be her MySpace profile, she lists herself as attending Bell High School. And in her bio, she writes, "I Livee For The Moments That I Wont Remeber With The People I Wont Forqet.(:"
