Stacie Halas, Porn Star Turned Teacher, Gets Reprieve as SoCal District Puts Off Decision on Her Fate

Is Stacie Halas, the porn star-turned-teacher, out of the dog house at her school district?

Not yet, it would seem. But the Oxnard School District did seem to give her a reprieve when board members met behind closed doors regarding her case last night and came away with no decision, school officials told the Weekly.

That means that the instructor that rocked the world of just about every eighth grade boy who has been her student ...

... will apparently stay on administrative leave while the district decides what to do.

Officials this morning sent us this statement from board president Veronica Robles Solis:

Direction was given to legal counsel regarding the discipline of a certificated employee and no action was taken in closed session. We know that there is considerable interest in our situation at Haydock Intermediate School. However, we respect the privacy of our employees and the Board Members and staff cannot comment on this matter other than what is reported out of closed session.

We're going to predict that Halas gets to stay on-board in some capacity. It's just a guess, but as we reported, another porn-star-teacher, Shawn Loftis, was allowed by the state to teach again in Florida after he was fired from the Miami-Dade district.

In both cases the performances came long before the two decided to go into teaching.

It turns out that Halas did her fine work in San Diego about 6 years ago, long before her education career took off.

But it appears that some enterprising young students at Haydock Intermediate School came across her work and informed administrators.

Funny story, and it could be just that: Administrators reportedly could not track down said smut and apparently dropped the issue. But their lack of Google skills might have been exacerbated by ... anti-porn filters on campus.

And so a couple fellow teachers somehow found a way around the district's Internet connection (genius) and came up with the goods -- Halas in flagrante.

The question is whether a teacher can be punished or even fired for non-criminal activity that's in her past.

The porn industry is standing up for ex-porn-star teachers: It says let them move on with their lives.

Even if their tween male students will never be the same again.

The school says she did a good job. They have concerns about her being able to go back and not distract her students. But honestly as a man when I was in school I didn't need to know my teacher was in any sex films to distract myself and think about "what's under there?" Its the problem with hormanes and peuberty. I can use my experiences in life to teach kids. The key point is that they said when you go back to the classroom and a student brings this up to you, you will be able to handle that. I thought that was highly progressive of them."

 

NEWS FLASH: Vanishingly few parents want you or her sharing your life experiences with their kids, dude. They don't want their kids to work their way through college on their backs. They're not especially happy to find out that your newfound notoriety is getting you laid; and they certainly don't want you telling their horny young boys that.

So we expect our schools to "educate" kids about sex, pass out contraceptives. And Influence our daughters to go to planned parenthood behind parents backs. But having an instructor who performed sexual acts on camera before becoming a teacher, is going to far? Really bunch of hypocrites! Your telling me that you promote and teach safe sex to these kids and yet someone who had sex on camera is unfit to teach.... I say she's probably the best qualified to be teaching sex ed! And no not teaching students about how to do it or what positions are best... She's probably more experienced in how to handle uncomfortable situations that stem from sex. And her former career doesn't make her a bad person or example, she choose to change her actions and way of life to me that's more admirable than condeming her. And I doubt she was promoting porn as a career to her students. What's really sad is that her privacy has been violated. And the curious lil' perve's probably had no intention of getting their teacher fired they were just over excited lil' 13 year olds who I bet didn't wanna miss a day of class after they made their lil' discovery. Just goes to show that with todays technology no one can be protected from their past and there is no right to privacy any more. I wish Ms. Halas the best.

Ummmm.... doesn't the Oxnard school district do background checks? Or throw a perspective employee's name in Google for two seconds? I don't buy the "porn filters" argument for the campus internet... that is so lazy.  I am not bothering to pass judgement on the actual argument here... but one thing to note... A teacher's ability to reach her student's minds requires a certain amount of trust and focus from the students... if I could have gone home from school as 14yo and watched that same teacher taking it.... well... i don't think i would have had the same focus...  And.... it is a reasonable expectation that some of her female students may have made the decision to be looser with their bodies than they otherwise would have based on her... It is what it is... I just don't think you can fully escape your past and a pornstar has no business in a class room.  I would say the same for any other past that compromises your students opinion of you...

I can understand why someone may not WANT a former porn star teaching children; it's called having an opinion.  The issue becomes, however, whether or not you can prove that her former career affected her ability to teach her classes in any way.  So far, the only argument I've seen produced by those who demand her firing is "common sense."  The problem with "common sense," however, is that it offers no actual evidence and no actual fact beyond the opinion of the arguer.  The point that myself and several others have already made is that Stacie Halas has been fired without any evidence beyond the fact that she used to act in pornos presented against her.  No evidence, in any of the news articles I've seen, at least, mention this past career as affecting her present occupation in any way.  Taking a less extreme example, perhaps, should I have the right to have a teacher fired for expressing an opinion I don't like when off the clock and not on school grounds?  Unless I can present some sort of evidence that it has negatively affected their ability to teach class, I have no grounds to press for their dismissal.  In the same way, I expect the school board to either present ACTUAL evidence against her abilities as a teacher or to rescind her suspension as lacking any sort of foundation beyond the usual moral panic that arises around sex.

The miiodle school kids should be dealt with by their parents. The teachers actually did the school a service by exposing one of their own. Who cares if it was male or female, makes no difference. Why would a search of all teachers houses be needed? Being sexual is normal, spreading your legs for money is basically prostitution. Why is it so hard to understand not wanting a porn star around ones child? Are you more concerned with the porn star or the students?

The girl did what she needed to do to get through college (she not a mexican or black, so no scholorship was available for her I am sure).

 Hey, if you want to really see what we are talking about here check out the "teacher of the millenium" post on eFuktdot com. Pretty repugnant stuff. It's hard to imagine what good can come out of this person interacting with our children. I'm not anti-porn or anything, i'm just sayin' check it out and make up your own mind. My opinion is she engages in some pretty foul behavior and is unfit to be an educator.You decide.
