Alejandro Gamiz, North Hollywood Sears Employee, Admits to Videotaping Women in Dressing Rooms -- for 3 Years

The voyeurism could go back as far as 2009.
Have you tried anything on in the women's dressing room (or gone to the bathroom) at the janky old Sears in North Hollywood, anytime in the last three years?

If so, bad news: You might have been on candid camera.

While inspecting their fitting rooms, Sears security personnel recently discovered that some had been wired with spy cams...

... according to KNX news radio. LAPD Detective Karen Crawford tells the station that 27-year-old maintenance man Alejandro Gamiz fully admitted to cops that he was secretly recording women "for 3 years, that we're aware of, while he worked at Sears."

Creeper pride!

As for all you potential victims: Unfortunately, you'll probably never know if Gamiz saw you naked. The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office has decided to prosecute him for burglary and "surreptitiously recording unsuspecting women," which doesn't involve the testimony of individual targets.

This particular Sears in the Valley Plaza mall has been the subject of video documentary before. (Though a little more appropriate.)

National Geographic "retail expert" Grant Cardone walked around the store with a cameraman in December 2011, criticizing the lack of customer service. Sears management eventually escorted him out, saying he didn't have permission to film in the store.

If only they'd paid more attention to the creep-umentary being filmed from within their own stalls.

"It's not the best sears, but it sure got some characters," says a North Hollywood resident on Yelp. (The least of them certainly not being Gamiz.) And another: "I wouldn't wanna hang around here for too long after dark. Then again, I'm sure I wouldn't hang around here period."

I live a block from this Sears, it was once a beautiful store.  Back in the '60s, my mother would take me there to shop for clothes. We would sit in comfy chairs and a saleslady would bring out clothes for my mom to choose from, then help her take the clothes into the fitting room. I can't believe how terrible this same store is now.

Aren't you supposed to leave your undergarments on when trying on clothes? He couldn't have seen much. And no offense but the clothes (and am sorry to say, shoppers) at sears are far from sexy...i dont really see how anyone can get off on that. Then again, im not into voyeurism and its probably just the act of watching unknowing people undress, that get him jolly. At any rate it is wretchedly creepy

You seem obsessed with "oinkers" and "fat" which really has nothing to do with this. Women and GIRLS of all ages and sizes shop at that Sears. GROW UP.

I've always believed that the types that go into "security" jobs are the ones we need to be the most wary of. It's the flipside of the creep.
