Lenny Dykstra Admits to Craigslist Sex Crimes

Hasn't been Lenny Dykstra's year.

The baseball legend was sentenced to three years behind bars last month for essentially stealing cars by buying them from dealers with false paperwork. Last year he faced federal charges related to alleged bankruptcy fraud.

Now he's been convicted for sexual misconduct with women he hired for housework via Craigslist. Foul ball.

According to the L.A. City Attorney's office today:

Dykstra pleaded no contest to charges of lewd conduct and assault with a deadly weapon.

Here's what prosecutors say he did (via City Attorney's statement):

Charges against Defendant Dykstra stem from several reported incidents including one report in 2009, three reports in 2010, and reports in February and April of 2011. In each of the incidents, advertisements were placed by Defendant Dykstra on the Craigslist website requesting personal assistant or housekeeping services. When the victims arrived at the locations to meet Defendant Dykstra, he would allegedly inform the women that the job also required them to give a massage and would expose himself to them. During one incident in July 2010, Defendant Dyskstra held a knife and forced the victim to massage his body.

Looks like he's, ah, getting off easy here, however.

The 48-year-old, who lived in Encino, will only have to do 90 days in jail and only have to see three years probation. He was ordered to stay away from five victims and told not to "solicit" on Craigslist or social networking sites.

The three months in jail, City Attorney's spokesman Frank Mateljan tells the Weekly, will run concurrent with his grand theft auto case and not add to his wonderful experience behind bars.

[Added at 1:32 p.m.]: The office sent out a statement this afternoon to clarify the following: He got 90 days for assault and 180 days for lewd conduct. In both cases, however, the sentences will run concurrently with his three-year deal for grand theft auto.

Only 90 days. I never liked Dykstra. Mookie Wilson was the man in centerfield for the Mets. What a scumbag. He's a serial predator. Five victims, and he used deadly weapons to intimidate these women. With that many counts he could easily be doing 20 years. You always hear stories about guys doing hard time for much, much less sex offenses. Don't get me wrong, sexual misconduct and crimes are wrong, but it seems if you're famous and/or white, the system won't come down on you as hard. Even more disturbing is the 90 day sentence will be served concurrently with his other crimes. #scum
