Marijuana Brownies at Long Beach High School: 48-year-old Guyl Given, 4 Others, Arrested
Several arrests were made after marijuana brownies made the rounds at a Long Beach high school, police announced today.

The treats inspired the arrests of five people, including 48-year-old Guyl Given, who cops say bought them at a cannabis dispensary and sold them to students.

... a single student fell ill on March 23 in a classroom at Long Beach Polytechnic High School, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
It was only 8 a.m. What could it be? Ah, yes, the dreaded wake and bake, with a brownie, no less. Cops say the 15-year-old boy went to a nurse's office. Paramedics were called. Then police.
Officers soon tracked down another 15-year-old boy who allegedly had several brownies on him for sale.
That led to two other students who had brownies for breakfast, including a 15-year-old stoned girl who was pulled out of class and handed over to her parents and a 16-year-old boy who was arrested, cops say.
Those kiddies were also the subject of possible school discipline, according to police.
And then there was this winner, Given, who was arrested on March 24 on suspicion of "various drug-related charges," according to the LBPD. He was being held behind bars in lieu of $70,000 bail.
As a result of the brownie situation, cops raided the school last week and came up with only two arrests for pot and weapons possession, according to the department. Two other students were cited for having cannabis and drug paraphernalia.

The moral of this story? It's not true that inner-city school kids aren't getting proper nutrition in the morning.
