Twitter Parties Are The Rage With Teens, LAPD Chief Beck Warns
Concerned, apparently, by last weekend's Project X-style house party in Holmby Hills, LAPD Chief Charlie Beck expressed concern about teenage "Twitter parties."

That's right, in the gang capital of the nation, where serial killing is sport, the big crime problem is teens' raging in unoccupied homes.
Beck described to us out-of-it reporters what this scene is really all about:
These are parties where, through social media, large groups of primarily young people are made aware of a residence that is vacant.
Last weekend's party apparently happened when "a Pacific Palisades teen reportedly told friends that he and his parents were going to Hawaii," according to Frank Stoltze of KPCC (89.3 FM).
It was such a rager that as many as 500 people showed up before cops in riot gear broke the thing up.
Beck said homeowners should not post their vacation plans on Facebook and Twitter (ya think?), lest they return to find their fine digs have been turned into a rave:
... For those homeowners out there, if you're going to be absent from your residence, don't put it on social media.
And remember keep the alcohol locked up tight: Kids can smell it from a mile away.
