Antonio Gomez Sexed Up Two Students While Teaching P.E. at LAUSD's Stevenson Middle

Ever since the LAPD accused former P.E. teacher Antonio Gomez in March 2007 of doing dirty things with five female students, he's maintained his innocence.

But today -- post-Miramonte scandal, we might add -- a seven-man, five-woman jury disagreed on account of two of those girls, declaring 36-year-old Gomez guilty of 12 felony counts of "lewd act upon a child."

Of the handful of young teens who originally came forward...

... the D.A. only decided to charge the Stevenson Middle School teacher with molesting one girl who was under 14, and one who was "14 or 15" years old.

The D.A. alleged that Gomez sometimes took the girls into his P.E. office or the school's weight room to sex them up. The activity occurred for months on end in 2005 and 2006.

An anonymous user on RateMyTeachers.com said in 2010 that Gomez "was and still is a messed up person for what he did. He always thought he was a ladys guy and a badass." Another user wrote, "He penetrated all the hoodrats."

However, just a few days ago, someone else on the site contradicted those allegations by writing that "Gomez did not do anything to those girls! he was a nice guy who knew how to make PE fun. he treated everybody equally and was fun to talk to. respected everybody even when nobody respected him. HE WAS AWESOME!"

Ever since he was arrested in 2007, Gomez has been free on $620,000 bail. But now, the judge ordered that the ex-teacher be jailed (sans bail) until his sentencing on June 27.

"Obviously, we're disappointed," his lawyer tells City News. "He still maintains his innocence and will be appealing.''

I was a student at Stevenson Middle School back in 2000. I had a girl Friend that would always go see him during 6th Period. I was only 14 at the time. She had a huge crush on him and would tell me that he kissed her and hugged her, Things like that. So, I do believe this to be true!! I didn't think much of it. I was young and dumb. I had forgotten about all that, until I heard about what happened. A lil late, but All these allegations are definitely TRUE!!!

Mr gomez was a great person, he was my PE teacher 13 years ago and i i was one of his favorite student at the time. He never did anything bad to me or any of my friends!!! Some girls are just corrupted in their heads and don't have any respect for them selfs.......Am just saying i remember they were a whole lot of girls that were just little sluts......

I agree with all of you, but the bigger question is, if he was innocent a normal person would take a step back from children "if they are quote lying," concentrate on his own two boys. Why would you go throw yourself out there and continue coaching kids, and even put yourself in that situation. This is what makes me scratch my head. I can tell you that he is still "all into himself, and arrogant as can be." nothing has changed on that end. The problem is he thinks he is above the law.

I am shocked to hear of so many moslestations happening in our SoCal schools. Isn't there some sort of psychological test teachers can be given to determine their overall character? Or at least a background check, or both? As a parent, reading about these incidents disturbs me more and more.

Well wishyouknew.. it sucks to see this happen especially in the Boyle Heights Community. I do agree with your opinion mr Gomez should have stop coaching. It is a dissapointment to see anyone can do anything in the world with money, like they say ''MONEY is POWER'. Or in this case freedom. but any whom.. I was a student at Stevenson one of Mr. Gomez first student if im not mistaken in the year 2000. Im not going to lie this teacher was an asshole.. lol the biggest self-confident person. Always talking about himself MR I ... I CAN, I WILL... But never did i see him desrespect anyone. He was more into himself then anything else. so all this is a big WOW COULDNT BELIEVE IT.. Honestly being a teacher now a days is not an easy job. Kids now a days look twice their age especially girls. But thats not even the worst part.. mentally their minds are just so perverted. What im having trouble understanding is if two girls that are sister are having some type of sexual encounter with a teacher.. in my mind im thinking two slutty little girls.. Or two lying sisters. it took them a year to realize they were doing a nauty thing. that is sick!! And if Mr Gomez did have something to do with them, well hes the biggest idiot in the world.. Im not saying or defending him .. sleeping with a minor doesnt make it ok.. its a sick thing to think about. But still in my head im thinking.. were are these girls parents .. come on!! keep track of your children especially at that age.. i see girls drunk ,faded at parties till 2 in the morning .. i remember my first party was at the age of 18 and i was home by 10.. my mother wasnt a stay at home mom but she was always on top of all my siblings and i. What im trying to say is theirs two stories to this. and well their will be justce. if its not in this world in the next. BUT like the bible says everything will be expose to the light..and if he is guilty then i hope he gets what he deserves.. i just hope that hes family have peace in their hearts.. and my prayers go out to hes family.. ooh and let this be a reminder to any teacher out their.. dont mess with are children you will be punish!!!....

This guy while out on bail was still coaching kids in travel baseball. He coached one team out of South Gate/Downey (So Cal Dynasty) and another team out of Norwalk called the (Oakley Stingrays). I am disappointed to know he was running around free around town and being able to be around kids. This is sick and I am glad that he will now be away from the children.
