Bobby Khamvongsa Murdered Near Beverly Center: Victim Dressed as Woman

Bobby was a close friend of mine and it honestly disgusts me the way that some of these so called "reporters" and "journalists" have portrayed him. It seems as if they need to go back to school and learn how to properly write...with tact and sensitivity. 

Sensationalizing this story with info about the victim being dressed as a woman is just so homophobic/transphobic and plain wrong on so many levels. 

I didn't know Bobby, but his death affected me.  I heard of him on facebook through one of my friends. I went to Bobby's facebook page and scrolled through his pictures. His smile and personality in those pictures made me realize that a lovely soul had died. I don't know what happens to us when we die, but it's a comforting thought to know that people like Bobby will be there waiting for us. RIP Bobby, you were loved and still are. Philip E. Mizell

this whole coverage is horrible what does it matter that he posted pics on his Facebook with and without makeup on or that he was dressed as a woman? the whole point is that a wonderful and loving person was murdered and what a loss that is for everyone that knows him

We need some type of violence march for the city to chill out on. With the Metro driver getting shot, The USC kids getting shot, The marine killing the homeless men in Orange County, plus all the other 

Not even to mention all the Police going around shooting and beating everybody. Shit is getting old man, we need to spread that energy of love around

I was a roommate of his with along with several other people and I can tell you RIGHT NOW that the man was not a cross dresser. I saw him go out every weekend and he NEVER wore womens clothing. Get your facts straight! Everyone is hearing about this one. P.S., I am a straight man and telling it as it is. THAT was a GOOD MAN, fix your article

Just so you know bobby was NOT! dressed as a woman! the news have there facts wrong and it makes me sick! His so called "Woman's Clothing" was not woman's! it was a mens top!  Bobby is not a Transvestite! GET UR FACTS STRAIGHT !!!!!! Love u Bobby miss u so much!

And to the writer of thIs article, I hate to point out that this article was poorly written, but it was and I think that you need to work on proofreading. And I would agree with the previous anonymous poster that you could have written this more professionally and thoughtfully. It seems as though you just decided to put a bunch of random irrelevant information to make a paragraph. it just seemed a little disrespectful.

This is so tragic. I did not know Bobby personally but am from Hawaii and share friends in common. Love and prayers going out to his family and friends. 

To LAWeekly: There is no indication in the article that his attire had anything to do with his murder. So why is this fact highlighted in the title? It gives the impression that the victim was somehow at fault. This is absolutely not the case. I hope future articles bearing such tragic news can be written more professionally and thoughtfully.
