DUI Checkpoints, Drunk Patrols Across L.A. Starting Tonight
Cinco de Mayo just happened and cops swarmed Southern California with DUI checkpoints and drunk patrols.
Don't they ever let up?
No. The LAPD is back at it this weekend -- starting tonight -- with checkpoints and "saturation patrols" in Harvard Heights, South L.A., Boyle Heights, and scenic Van Nuys. Don't say we didn't warn you:
-Tonight, from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m., there will be a DUI checkpoint on South Vermont Avenue between Pico Boulevard and 12th Street in Harvard Heights. (It'll be like shooting fish in a barrel.)
-Also tonight, from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., there will be a checkpoint on Manchester Avenue between Hoover and Figueroa streets in South Los Angeles.
-Tomorrow (Saturday), from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., there will be a checkpoint on Sherman Way between Sepulveda Boulevard and Orion Avenue in lovely Van Nuys.
-Finally, on Sunday from noon to 8 p.m. there will be a "saturation patrol" in search of drunktards in the LAPD's Hollenbeck Division area, which includes Boyle Heights and much of the city's Eastside.
Be careful out there.
