Prison justice in the L.A. County desert.
Francisco Aguilar, a 36-year-old child rapist serving a life sentence for the "aggravated sexual assault" he committed in San Diego County many years ago, was found blue-faced in his prison cell early Tuesday morning.

It looks like the prison-justice fairies, who have been especially active over the last year or so, are at it again. Investigators at the state prison in Lancaster believe...

... that Aguilar's cellmate -- 42-year-old Aaron Alvarez, another lifer in prison for first-degree murder -- is responsible for hanging him from their ceiling.

Aguilar was found dangling from an electronic cable around 1:15 a.m.

Lieutenant Jackie Galapon of the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation tells LA Weekly that "the inmates have radios and TVs in their cells," so a cable like the one that choked out Aguilar would not have been difficult for Alvarez to find.

Although the victim raped a child in San Diego County and the suspect murdered someone in Kern County, they both had been transferred to the California State Prison's desert facilities in L.A. County.

So what do you do with a life-sentenced murderer who's suspected of striking again behind bars?

You put him in an "administrative segregation" cell, says Galapon -- also known as the hotbox, the hole or solitary confinement.

Life in prison can be torture for a child molester. Just ask the Orange County death-row inmate who apparently hung himself in his cell this week. Or ask the notorious Mark Berndt, the Miramonte Elementary School teacher who had allegedly been feeding his sperm to dozens of third-graders in a sick "sex game." When the balding sicko was brought into the L.A. County Sheriff's downtown jail, his lawyer complained that Berndt feared for his life after "jail staff publicly announced over a loudspeaker that Berndt was a child molester and named the dorm where he was being housed."

And he should be scared. Aguilar is no-longer-living proof that you can't give a pedophile a cellmate.
