Obama Gets California's Support Despite Flip-Flop on Medical Marijuana Prosecution

You might whine about President Obama's flip-floppity ways when it comes to medical marijuana, but you certainly don't put your votes where your mouth is, at least not according to this poll.

Californians, it seems, are solidly in Obama's corner in 2012.

One would think that his administration's crackdown on California's favorite herb might dampen our spirits. Nope:

57 percent of you approve of the job the president is doing, according to the latest USC Dornsife / Los Angeles Times poll (PDF).

56 percent of you would vote for Obama if the election were held today; 37 percent would go for Republican Mitt Romney.

Latinos, who have had issues with Obama's immigration policy (or lack thereof), were even more strongly in favor of a second term for the prez: 71 percent said they'd reelect him.

In fact, if this were a race decided only by white Californians, Obama would [correction]: almost lose: Only 47 percent of Anglos said they'd vote for the president in November. [Added]: That's still more than Romney would get, with 44 percent of whites going for him.

Interestingly, in the same poll, only 46 percent of Californians backed the right of same sex couples to marry, even in the wake of Obama's support for gay unions.

USC's professors are political tools for corrupt polticians, and I should know...I graduated from 'SC.

And the Weekly and writer DR are Propaganda Tools for Obama, just like the LA Times and the Associated Press (AP).

When Obama loses 49 out of 50 States (he might take CA, but that's not a certainty), will all of you still have jobs as "journalists" ???

Did you guys report about the recent Democratic Primary in West Virginia, the one in which a no-name felon serving a 17+ year sentence in an out-of-state federal prison, got 40% of the vote against Obama (and O's One Billion Dollars of Special Interest $$$ buying glowing media coverage through long-term ad buys)???

That counts a lot more than some bought-and-paid-for "poll" !!!

California is the most indebted state.  They go along with the US being the most indebted country.    The Republicans would not be any different so it does not matter at all.  Either way, they will be going off a cliff soon.

actually, sensationalized a bit....mentions medical marijuana as if it's the kingpin of the vote for democrat over republican....I am a full supporter of the legalization of marijuana, but when it comes down to it, that takes a back seat to supporting Obama over Mitt....huge difference between a Dem President and Rep one....especially as radically right as the Rep party has moved

I will vote for the pro marijuana candidate regardless of the predicted outcome.

There is no difference at all betweeen the Dems and Reps besides a little ideological noise.  They play games pretending to be different but their playbook is orchestrated and their end game already decided.  They are all in the top 1%, on both sides.

Yeah. On the average, Californians are really not that smart...
