If we knew getting free Rolexes was this easy, we might have never entered this here lucrative field of journalism.

And props to this little guy for breaking through a champion's tackle by a store security guard during his heist at the Westfield Century City Mall. Impressive.

Here's what cops say happened:

On May 10, shortly before 4:50 p.m., the dude ran off with two Rolex watches after asking to check them out at an unnamed store, according to the LAPD.

Seeing the green furnishings and noting the brand of watch we'd have to take a wild guess and say it might have been the Rolex boutique on level 1.

Officers said he grabbed one watch from a presentation tray and snatched another from the salesman's hand and darted for the door.

The thing is, there's a huge security guard standing next the exit and, sure enough, he tackled the suspect.

But our feisty criminal broke free and fled with -- get this -- $64,900 worth of superlative Swiss timepieces, according to the LAPD.

The security guard had to be treated at the scene by paramedics for minor injuries sustained during the scrap, police said.

Of course, investigators want to talk to the suspect. The LAPD described him as being in his mid-20s, standing about 5 feet, 5 inches, and appearing to be a lightweight at about 135 or so pounds.

If you think you know who it is or you spot any beautiful, new, not-fake Rolexes on Craigslist going for a really good price, call detectives at 310-444-1520.

The LAPD described him as being in his mid-20s, standing about 5 feet, 5 inches, and appearing to be a lightweight at about 135 or so pounds.  Well. that could be half of L.A.! In an effort to be politically correct, the police are of tremendous help to the criminal element! Viva P.C.!

Consider that this is in addition to having him on video, which was widely released, so you can put the numbers and the actual moving picture together for your own viewing pleasure. It doesn't really get much better than having someone on video. What do you want, his address and social security number? If they had that they wouldn't need the public's help here. And BTW they do mention his race, but because his looks are fairly obvious on video, I felt it didn't add much to put it print. You can judge for yourself.

Typical of LAPD---- fail to state the obvious.
