She was a consenting adult participating with other consenting adullts. The videos she appears in are intended for viewing by adults only.  If the videos are viewed by minors, then the district attorney needs to go after those parties who made those videos available to those minors.  That would mean he'd have to arrest and prosecute every parent who has furnished his/her spoiled brat kid with an unfiltered iphone that has Internet access.  You know the type of parent I'm referring to:  the one who wants to be "friends" with his/her kid instead of being an authoritive figure; the one who knuckles under and gives his/her kid anything s/he wants.  How many parents reading this have furnished their kid with an unfiltered iphone?  Yeah, I thought so.  If there's a "problem" here, you're just as much a part of it as Stacie Halas.  More so, in my book.  She has broken no laws. 

She was doing porn in the mid 2000s? Is she from the future? The year 2,500 maybe? Talk about burying the lead.

There's definitely a case for "porn's a legal industry" to be argued, but not effectively. The bottom line is that we, as a society, shield our kids from porn. There's obscenity laws, there's over-18 laws for things like strip clubs, there's MPAA ratings systems on movies. All signs point to the fact that we don't want kids and porn to mix. So it should be no surprise to a porn star when there's an issue with her teaching career.

In short, if you do porn and you're around children, we should and will do everything possible to get you away from those kids.

The lawyer handling the appeal for the firing of teacher/porn star Stacie Halas (Stacie Halas is the California teacher who was fired because she also worked as a porn star) responds to the behind-the-scenes audio interview released by the Smoking Gun website.  Stacie Halas's lawyer's name is Richard Schwab.  When the New York Daily News newspaper contacted Mr. Schwab for a response to the Stacie Halas behind-the-scenes audio interview released by the Smoking Gun website, he said he had not heard the interview, yet.  He also said that Stacie Halas no longer appears in adult movies and is "entitled" to return to the classroom.  He said, "She’s done everything that she can to put (her past) behind her and made it as  confidential as she possibly can."  But, of course, her attempt to hide her history as a porn star is not relevant.  In fact, her attempt to hide, from the Oxnard school district, her history has a porn star is actually deceitful.  In that behind-the-scenes interview that the Smoking Gun website released, Stacie Halas acknowledged that she could "probably" be fired if it was ever discovered that she was making porn movies while she was employed as a teacher.  With that acknowledgment, Stacie Halas showed that she KNEW that she was involved in an activty that could be damaging to her teaching career, in general.  Didn't Stacie Halas have a duty to disclose to the Oxnard school district at the time of her hiring that she had engaged in an activity that she KNEW that, if discovered, could potentially be damaging to her teaching career?  The Oxnard school district had a right to fire Stacie Halas for not disclosing that potentially damaging information at the time they hired her.

What a nasty skank! Just think....the same hands that were in all those MANY different "places" were also touching young children! Yuck Yuck Yuck...nauseating. Talk about different ends of the spectrum! How does one go from teaching the ABC's and teaching little kids to add up all the little bunnies in the picture.....to the being in pornography? Multiple personalities? Going from the sweet innocence of children to the depraved gutter of pornography? Wow. A person like that teaching the next generation. Scary.

The fact that Stacie Halas was not yet working in the Oxnard school district at the time she was doing pornography is irrelevant because, when she acknowledged that she could "probably" be fired if it was ever discovered that she was making porn movies while she was employed as a teacher, she showed that she KNEW that she was involved in an activty that could be damaging to a teaching career, in general...yet she did it, anyway. This is VERY irresponsible and reckless behavior for a teacher to engage in. Oxnard school district was right to fire her.
