Colecchi.
Updated at the bottom with both suspects eventually surrendering. First posted at 8:06 a.m. June 5.

Two idiots beat a bar bouncer to death over the weekend because he wouldn't let them continue drinking after last call.

Now one suspect's in custody and another has had his face plastered all over L.A. TV. It happened about 1:45 a.m. Saturday at Pat's II Cocktail Lounge in Redondo Beach, police said.

The victim ...

... had not been identified.

A suspect, 30-year-old Alejandro Avina, was arrested Saturday, according to cops.

A second man wanted in connection with the homicide, 35-year-old Francisco Cobarruvias Jr., was still at large. Fox 11 News reported that police swarmed his mother's home over the weekend but came up empty.

He's said to be driving a 10-year-old BMW 3-series with chrome wheels.

Suspect Francisco Cobarruvias Jr.

The two were identified through security video and the license plate number of an Audi that witnesses spotted leaving after the attack, according to City News Service.

Regulars and neighbors seemed stunned, describing the bouncer as a friendly guy. One woman told news reporters that he once abandoned his post to walk her home late at night.

[Update at noon Tuesday]: The victim was ID'd as 49-year-old Terie Colecchi of Torrance. A memorial page was set up on Facebook:

This page is a tribute to our friend Terie Colecchi. He was a great guy loved by many people. He touched so many lives with his greeting of "Dude" and his great smile.

The man arrested, Avina, was released pending further investigation, Redondo Beach police Sgt. Shawn Freeman told City News Service.

That leaves Cobarruvias, who cops think fled his Redondo Beach home with his three children (3- 11-years-old) in his black, four-door 1999 BMW 528i, California plate 4GTT805.

Cops now say he stomped on the victim's head.

Seen him? Call Redondo Beach police at 310-379-2477.

[Update at 5:15 p.m. on June 13]:

Authorities now say Cobarruvias surrendered last Thursday and Avina, who somehow ended up on the loose, turned himself in to authorities at his attorney's office this afternoon, according to City News Service.

Cobarruvias was booked on suspicion of murder and jailed in lieu of $2 million bail; Avina was arrested based on a murder warrant and jailed in lieu of $1 million.

We have a call in to Redondo Beach police to see if we can get further clarification.

I agree that Race has nothing to do with the outcome of the incident but how are you so sure that it was over drinks? Media gets things all screwed up. I been physically attacked by a bouncer before and thank God I didn't get physical right back or I would of been facing some crazy allegations like these if things would of went bad such a s this situation. but I still was thrown in jail first and I was never asked questions until I had to make over 13 court appearances. The true Gangsters work within the system

You and the 7 others that like this are true ignorant morons. You have no FACTS and our talking out of your ass. First off you weren't there and your making judgement based off your racist mind. Number 2 how do you know if there from Mexico or the United States? My guess would be if they we're from Mexico then if they committed murder then why not just go back and stay in Mexico? But instead these guys stepped up like men and are handling things the way everyone should handle there responsibilities. Number 3, MEXICO has always been here

Finally an article with a name and a proper opening!  Thank you!

Every other friggin wanna be news establishment tells you all about the criminals and even the fact that they either can't catch em (because it's hard to find a short fat guy with a pony tail) or release them from jail some unknown reason while they play CSI.

Also I am pretty sure "bouncer" wasn't his job title.  He took care of that whole place including staff members.

The POS probably fled to Mexico, but, on a positive note, he'll probably be decapitated down there.

the only thing stopping Los Angeles from being a great city is our murderous population of Latino thugs.  We have the highest GANG population in the US right here in LA, more murders committed by LATINOS (not racist-FACT) than all other cultures, races, groups combined. LA is a magnet for the lowest scum of Mexico and Central America.  A haven for those nations unwanted poverty and trouble.  When will California wake up?  When it's too late?  When Mexico has created MEXICO right here?  The very place these animals (cowards really) are fleeing?  They do the exact same sort of thing in my home.  GET THEM OUT OF HERE BEFORE WE ARE DONE!

Sounds like you hate latinos. So I'm guessing whites, blacks and asians have completely no fault on crime rates throughout Southern California. Ignorant my friend. You're the type of white folk I love to sit right next to in any public area.

I agree , and take Charles Manson , Bernie Madoff , Timothy McVeigh , Mark David Chapman( whom murdered Lennon) and those other white killers too.Thank god those other white serial killers like  John Wayne Gacy , Ed Gein, Ted Bundy  and Jeffey Dahmer are dead.Take Casey Anthony while you are at it . Damn whites!

Outside of Manson(who never actually killed anyone but lived in LA at the time of the Manson Family murders) none of the examples you cited have anything to do the original post.

Though I'm not advocating racism here, you mentioned white people who are in jail... not on the run to Mexico.   Better luck next time Einstein.
