Party People Beware: DUI Checkpoints Across L.A., So Here's Your Cheat Sheet
So you cancelled that weekend trip to Las Vegas because interstate 15 was all but shut down today?
Wise move. But now you have to get all DIY and make the party happen right here in L.A. But before you go aggro Party Monster on it, consider:
The LAPD and other agencies are on druntard patrol, and they've even let us know where they'll be:
-Tonight from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. the LAPD has a DUI checkpoint at Manchester Avenue between Hoover and Figueroa streets in South L.A.
-Saturday from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. there will be an LAPD DUI checkpoint at Figueroa and Ninth streets downtown.
-Saturday from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. there will be a DUI "saturation patrol" in the LAPD's Mission Division patrol area (PDF).
-Saturday the Beverly Hills Police Department will host a DUI checkpoint on La Cienega Boulevard at Gregory Way, according to Twitter's @BHScanner.
[Added at 5:12 p.m.]:
-Saturday from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. in west Long Beach, says the Long Beach Police Department.
-Sunday from noon to 8 p.m. the LAPD will be conducting a drunk patrol in the department's Hollenbeck Division area, which includes Boyle Heights and surrounding neighborhoods (PDF map).
