Kanye West has been trying desperately to get rid of his computer-controlled, aquarium-showered home in the Hollywood Hills for some years now.

But we're guessing he didn't ask for these unofficial moving guys to clear his stuff out for him: TMZ reported this morning that "someone in Kanye's camp who was at Kanye's home called the LAPD this morning" to report that...

... "his L.A. home was hit by burglars." And "people at the scene tell us... there was evidence the thieves dropped some of Kanye's possessions on the way out."

The LAPD confirms to LA Weekly that West's home was indeed targeted "either late last night or early this morning."

Says media-relations officer Richard French: "I can confirm there was a burglary." According to the watch commander at the Hollywood station, a press release with additional details should be issued within the hour.

[Update, 11:25 a.m.: Officer Bruce Borihahn says there will be no press release. However, he tells the Weekly that the apparent break-in took place around 6:30 a.m. this morning in the 7800 block Fareholm Drive. "The owner wasn't home at the time, and it is unknown if any property was taken," says Borihahn.]

West was not at his big concrete rectangle of a mansion during the break-in, because he's currently overseas on tour -- but he hasn't really spent much time in L.A. recently anyway.

Here are some shots of his neglected palace in the Hills, which he reportedly tried to sell a couple years ago for nearly $4 million:

Jetsons art and exotic fishies -- score! Or, much better yet, maybe Kim and Kanye chose his L.A. hideaway as an obscure stash spot for their inevitable sex tape.

Updates to come as we receive them.

This is just as lame as Kimmie getting flour-bombed--anything to keep the name in the news. And to think some PR person got paid lots of cash for putting this in the news.
