The L.A. Kings' parade is happening Thursday on Figueroa Street near Staples Center, venue officials announced last night.

The event will celebrate the Kings' 6-1 Stanley Cup championship victory over the New Jersey Devils Monday at Staples. There will also be a fan rally at Staples Center following the parade.

Here are the details:

The parade starts at noon at 5th and Figueroa streets Thursday and will head south to L.A. Live / Staples Center. It will last about 30 to 45 minutes, according to organizers.

The Kings' parade route.

Can you go? Of course. But lineup more toward 5th Street: The area around Staples will be mostly off-limits except if you have tickets to the Staples' rally, in which case you're in:

Fans with tickets for the STAPLES Center Rally event scheduled later in the day may show their tickets to enter special viewing areas along Chick Hearn Ct. on the south side of the street in STAPLES Center's Star Plaza or on the north side of the street in L.A. LIVE's Nokia Plaza. Only those with tickets for the Rally can enter these areas.

Bars and restaurants at L.A. Live will be open, with limited access via the northern entrance off Olympic Boulevard.

Priority for those free tickets to the 2:30 p.m. 60-minute rally at Staples will go to season ticket holders, but after that it's wide open. Here's how you can get yours:

Access to any remaining tickets for the general public will begin at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, June 12. Tickets can be reserved at www.lakings.com/parade and will be available on a first come, first served basis with a maximum of four tickets per order.

Figueroa will be closed between 3rd Street and starting at 4 a.m. Thursday.

Go on the Kings facebook page and you'll see that even many season ticket holders who got codes were not able to get tickets when their time started at 2 pm, so what more the public? I logged on exactly 6:00:00 and tried maybe 100 times to see if any tickets would come up, and nothing. They must have had maybe less than a dozen of the general public tickets reserved. What's ridiculous is on eBay there are ticket brokers in other states such as Texas and Connecticut selling these. Obviously the VIPs who were able to order 4 tickets are the ones who sold these to the brokers. Shame on these so-called "fans" who are taking advantage of a situation to make money. What the Kings should have done is had the rally outdoors at the LA Coliseum just like the Lakers did....not only could all the fans be there to celebrate since it holds a lot more people than the Staples Center, but it would also have eliminated the ticket scalping. It's especially important to have it in a large venue when you have a city winning their first Stanley Cup and especially in an overpopulated city like Los Angeles. New Orleans did it right when the Saints won the Superbowl--they had both their parade and rally on the streets for everyone to enjoy for FREE. AEG doesn't care about the fans....they only care about appeasing their VIPs in an exclusive party at Staples Center where the rich, privileged, or lucky (those who were able to get tickets for free) can attend.

I was waiting all day & submitted my request as soon as the website would allow me to get general public tix & they were already all gone.  At least I can still go to the parade but damn, I would've loved to have gone to the rally!

Ticketmaster says "on sale" for general public starts at 2pm and ends at 6pm.  Can anyone confirm what the actual time really is?
