Luka Magnotta -- 'Hollywood Body Parts Killer' Who Murdered Hervey Medellin?

Categories: Crime

Magnotta.
The so-called Hollywood body parts case from early this year has produced no arrests and few headlines in subsequent months.

The head, hands and feet of 66-year-old Hervey Medellin were found Jan. 17 near the Hollywood sign. His apartment was searched, his roommate was questioned, and false reports of an arrest circulated. It turned out that a boyfriend had reported him missing.

Then the case died. Now at least one outlet as asking:

Could Luka Magnotta, the onetime porn star based in L.A. and arrested in Paris Berlin after allegedly killing and dismembering a Montreal man (and posting a video of some of it), be connected to the Medellin case?

The New York Observer:

Magnotta.

The Observer has uncovered information that could potentially link Mr. Magnotta to an infamous case from earlier this year where the severed head and hands of a man were found on a wooded trail near the Hollywood sign.

Yeah.

The evidence is compelling but, so far, thin. The site notes that Magnotta might have used the moniker HollywoodLoveLetters in making YouTube posts and comments on Magnotta's purported videos.

The Observer notes that he was in L.A. in February, apparently offering male massage services under a 310 phone number:

In addition to the YouTube activity and the obvious similarities in the methodology of the Jun killing and the Hollywood Sign murder, which both involved severed body parts placed in prominent locations, Facebook postings on one of the many accounts attributed to Mr. Magnotta indicate he was in Los Angeles less than one month after the Hollywood Sign killing.

Also, the name of the Los Angeles victim is "Herve" not Hervey

Possibly, someone would of called but not definite. That is after they opened up the apartment, the janitor obviously knew the apartment manager and who had vacated. Plus other stories detail the police using apartment video logs to ID Magnotta emptying the trash. Good luck finding body parts in a city dump. It all rests on the clean up crew calling or not. People complain about smells to the Apartment manager not the police. They had that place cleaned up in days to rerent again." For some reason garbage collectors did not take it away in their regular pick-up that day, and on Tuesday the building’s janitor opened the stinking bag to discover a human torso."says the National Post." The post goes on to say that was the same day the Conservative party called in the body part in the mail.  (http://news.nationalpost.com/2012/06/01/luka-rocco-magnotta-monaco-arrest-rumours-denied-as-police-hint-fugative-has-returned-to-canada/)

The murder in LA close to the Hollywood sign. But the LA times is poo pooing it claiming 'sources' (in Canada?). They show a big photo of the current Montreal police spokesman in this same story.. Since its a Canadian case the press there is all over it, Canadian papers revealed that a Montreal police call to Canadian Customs Service is how they knew Magnotta went to Paris. I am challenging the LA Times because they are asking the readership to trust their sources

they said his apartment smelled like death.  odds are they would eventually check it.  I think he wanted to get caught.  Seems smart enough not to leave it behind his apartment

Actually, the complaint by the Montana lawyer was made to Toronto police. Also, PETA made it's call about the "kitten killer" to Toronto police as well.

The LA times is officially poo-pooing it, but they refuse to give names or proof. -LA times: No link between porn star, Hollywood body-parts case, sources say "Sources familiar with the investigation said Magnotta had not visited the United States in the last two years, according to the sources who spoke with The Times on condition of anonymity." "...Sources said the bizarre nature of the case is the only thing comparable to the Canadian dismemberment case. My guess is their sources are the same people that the Montreal Police used saying Magnotta went to Paris, one phone call to the Canadian Custom's service. Is that enough? If Magnotta was truely giving 'services' from a 310 area code, people in LA would of saw it and knew it. Surely, not all the potential homosexuals in Los Angeles are in the closet and hiding the fact that they engage in homosexual services.  The family of (and) the 66 year old victim/former employee of Mexicana airlines would surely deserve the help would they(he) not? May I point out that the Montreal Police have dropped the ball two time before 1)With the telephone calls to the switchboard operator complaints (and the second person they finally allowed him to call) from the Montana Lawyer before the parcel was received, and the original complaints about the kitten killings. 2) The animal rights group had someone visit the Montreal police in person, but they refused to deal with it. A Toronto detective had taken the complaints serious but by that time, the accused had already moved to Montreal.

Montreal police have video camera images of Magnotta shipping the parcels, at first they didn't have an ID.  Then Montreal police only lucked out that the trash was not picked up (it missed its schedule)  by Magnotta's apartment, otherwise chances are good the apartment would of never been searched. But the times have to match up, for him to be in LA at the time. It seems interesting . #1, homosexuality #2Weak victims #3 Body parts. If Magnotta was dispose of the parts, the Hollywood sign might fit his extreme narcassim. Some people in LA have to know Magnotta, that is where any possible clues would be.

In addition to getting wrong city for arrest, name of victim's is also wrong. His last name is Lin, not "Jun." This article is full of inaccuracies, where's the editor?
