Marijuana Dispensary in Upland Raided by Feds: Six Arrested as Part of Ongoing Obama Administration Crackdown

Don't say they didn't warn you.

Federal authorities today seem to be making an example of the folks behind an Inland Empire chain of marijuana dispensaries run under the banner of G3 Holistic.

Six people were indicted and then arrested today in connection with what the U.S. Attorney's Office in Los Angeles describes as a drug trafficking organization that concealed profits:

Prosecutors say the operators were warned to shut down eight months ago. federal warnings recently went out to 34 other shops in the L.A. area last week as part of an ongoing Obama administration crackdown on medical weed. Read more about there here.

But, feds allege, the operators shut down stores in Colton and Moreno Valley but kept an Upland location open.

That G3 Holistic was raided this morning, apparently:

Three operators of the chain as well as three workers involved in an Ontario grow warehouse that supplied it were named in the indictment and taken into custody this morning, according to a U.S. Attorney's Office statement:

Aaron Sandusky, 41, of Rancho Cucamonga, who is a founder and owner of G3;

John Leslie Nuckolls II, 31, of Rialto, who is a founder and owner of G3 and who has called himself the CFO of G3;

Keith Alan Sandusky, 44, of Rancho Cucamonga, who was in charge of day-to-day operations of G3;

Paul Neumann Brownbridge, 29, of Upland, who worked at the Ontario grow operation;

Richard Irwin Kirchnavy, 45, of Rancho Cucamonga, who worked at the Ontario grow; and

Brandon Anton Gustafson, 30, of Yucaipa, who worked at the Ontario grow site.

The feds allege that Sandusky and Nuckolls received $3.3 million in an 8-month period and then withdrew it to make it appear as if their pot business was nonprofit -- a debated requirement of California pot shop law.

All the suspects were hit with charges of conspiracy to manufacture marijuana, possession of pot with intent to distribute it and maintaining a drug location. They all face up to life in prison if convicted. The defendants were due in court in Riverside today.

The U.S. Attorney's office says the action was indeed part of its crackdown on medical marijuana in California that began in October.

According to the office:

The indictment targeting the operators of the G3 store is the second criminal case against the operators of a retail outlet in the Los Angeles area that is part of the marijuana enforcement initiative announced by the California United States Attorneys in October ...

That is good news because they were arrested immediately. People who continue to push drugs should be jailed with no bail because they are ruining everyone’s lives.

A buddy's mother makes $65 every hour on the computer. She has been without a job for seven months but last month her payment was $14505 just working on the computer for a few hours. Read more on this web site lazycash42.c()m

All you guys are right and I respect anyone who helps advance the movement and I believe no one should be sent to jail over our medicine . But what did they think was gonna happen after being warned. All they did is taunt the feds and bring them to the ie for what ? Cuz they wouldn't cut there losses and move like everyone else does. 3.3 million and couldn't or wouldn't relocate .smells like greed . Can't be the poster child and live the spoiled life too.

Excellent comment and I'd like to expand on a few things. As for your suggestion, "Businesses cannot sell below market for very long or they will put themselves out of business," I respectfully disagree. When working in the distribution business, to sell below COST would be idiotic, but if you slightly undercut all of your competition (just below MARKET value), you can really make a freakin' killing! I speak from eh, experience (of someone I know). See, that way you move way more product and get it cheaper from the supplier than everyone else--because you move more product; consequently, people depend on you because they profit off you, too. Its a win-win... As for "non-profit" status of dispensaries, they can still pay themselves wages of like $100,000 a year, no limits there. Seriously.

All "non profit" means is that the business is obligated to reinvest the money that is not paid as an operating expense - operating expenses include salaries. The fact that dispensaries are forced to operate as non profits is ridiculous.  People who think they will get cheaper weed if a business is non profit are totally mistaken on that.  The price of weed has nothing to do with whether a business is non profit or not.   For example, say a business sold weed at below market prices - what would happen to their inventory?  Everyone would buy up all their weed and they wouldn't have anything left to sell until a new crop came in.  Businesses cannot sell below market for very long or they will put themselves out of business.   Use your head people.

So marijuana dispensaries are looking like public enemy #1, and big pharma continues to uh...KILL ppl with liver destroying Vicodin and various opiates and benzos. The gov't has its head firmly implanted in its butthole and doesn't seem to be to buy a clue.
