Anaheim Police Chief John Welters Has a MySpace Page

Hacker group Anonymous came through on its promise to target Anaheim police today by publishing not only the home address of Chief John Welters but, more embarrassingly, his MySpace page info.

Lulz? Reacting to clashes between mostly white cops and mostly Latino protesters weary of three officer involved shootings in Disneytown, Anonymous unleashed its own dogs on the Anaheim PD.

And note here that releasing the digital hounds is especially pertinent:

In one of their first confrontations with demonstrators, cops last week released a dog on seemingly harmless men, women and children sitting on grass. We posted TV news video of the dastardly move shortly afterward. (Cops later claimed that the dog accidentally got away).

The Weekly was the first publication on the planet to note that Anonymous planned to react with some kind of cyber attack on the Anaheim PD.

Today the group released a statement that says, in part:

Operation Anaheim / Facebook

To the police force in Anaheim, CA - we have witnessed your brutality and aggressive methods at stifling freedom of speech. We know about how you executed an unarmed man, shooting him in the back of the head while he was on his knees. We have witnessed you putting innocent women and children in danger, these actions are unforgivable.

We have a feeling this isn't the last we'll hear of what Anonymous is calling #OpAnaheim:

In a reply to Anonymous' message to President Obama. I understand where you're coming from with what you said about Obama, however, think of it like this. If he doesn't become elected again, everything you stand for will be destroyed because of Mitt Romney, and all of you morons who support him should realize this as well. Romney has been insulting Pakistan, Iran, England, Russia, and all of the foreign governments. If he is elected, he will continue to insult them until they attack us, and no matter which one attacks first, it won't be long before the others follow behind, Russia and England with their Nuclear weapons already pointed at us. What do you suppose will happen if Mitt Romney, who was more than likely born in Mexico since he refuses to reveal his birth certificate, is elected to office? That he'll turn around and apologize for everything he's said to them? No. If he is elected, Russia's already tentative alliance with us will be shattered and they will fire their nuclear weapons at us. England, who are our stalwart allies will ally themselves with Russia and also fire their nuclear weapons at us. Those of us that survive will be quickly wiped out by the Pakistani, Iranian, and other armies. America will be destroyed due to the idiocy of Mitt Romney, who has been doing everything he could to ruin President Obama, as well as the peace we are seeking with other nations. Think on this, my fellow Americans. Would you rather have Barack Obama as our president, a man who is working towards the betterment of our nation, or Mitt Romney, a man who is only thinking of himself and his racist ideals? Consider everything I have told you.

the bottom line is anon doesn't give a fuck about anyone's rights except their right to drink as much mountain dew as they want in their mom's basement and the right to not wash their neckbeards and try to say things they assume people think are 'offensive' (kinda like the internet's version of carlos mencia...maybe funny and shocking for a second, but now they have become the joke). they try to take some righteious 'stance' when really they were just bored....the world of warcraft server was probably down, and they needed to fill some time. once they do something impressive, i'll retract all my statements...but really, myspace? c'mon. you're supposed to be the "TEH MOSTEST FEERED HAXZERZ IN ALL DA LAND", and your big move was finding a public figure's myspace page and address? yaaaaawwwwnnnn.
