Man Falls to Death Trying to Lower Self Into Ex-Lover's Apartment With Garden Hose
A man trying to lower himself into the apartment of an ex-lover via garden hose fell to his death early on the 4th of July, police said.

The 45-year-old was apparently trying to get into the room of an ex-boyfriend when the hose broke or he slipped and fell to his death at 1324 Calumet Ave. in Angeleno Heights, an LAPD watch commander told the Weekly.

" ... was found dangling upside down from a fence between the apartment and a neighboring house," according to The Eastsider L.A., which broke the story of the death.
The body was discovered about 7:30 a.m., the watch commander told us. The building is a four-story, brick structure. It's not clear how far the man fell, however.
Another LAPD watch commander, Lt. Wes Buhrmester, explained the incident in a comment posted at The Eastsider:
The decedent took a fire hose from the interior of the building, removed it from its fitting and took it to the roof. There, he tied one end to a fixed object and threw the other end over the side. He then used it to either lower himself or rappel down the building, presumably to contact the person he knew, through their window. It is believed he fell to his death shortly afterward.
