Gil Carrillo Fired as San Fernando Police Chief
When we heard last March that the city of San Fernando had appointed Night Stalker serial-murder investigator Gil Carrillo as its interim police chief, we though it was a smart move.

After all, the city had been rocked by chaos and drama, not the least of which was an affair between its mayor, Mario Hernandez, and a councilwoman. Revelations of their love played out in front of a live City Council audience with the mayor's wife in attendance. (We don't make this stuff up).
The retired Carrillo, hailed as a hero who helped nail Richard Ramirez, one of the worst serial murderers in American history, would add a little bit of stability to the little town, right? Guess not:
The San Fernando City Council this week voted to fire Carrillo after less than four months on the job, according to the L.A. Daily News.
But why?
Carrillo told the paper that a city administrator said he wasn't a good fit:
They wanted a `yes' man, and I'm not a `yes' man.
Just say no, Gil.
The Daily News notes that the City Council hasn't been the only place with issues:
An ex-police cadet filed a lawsuit saying she had an affair with a former chief, Tony Ruelas. An acting police chief, Jeff Eley, was accused of fixing a ticket for a congressman's aide.
Yeah -- who needs a hero when you can have all that drama.
