Chick-fil-A Tastes Like Hate, Apparently (PHOTOS)

It didn't take long for a guerilla activist to put a very public spin on Chick-fil-A's huge gay marriage FAIL.

Only two days after conservatives flocked to the chain's outlets to support the stance of its CEO, who said he doesn't support same-sex marriage, a Torrance Chick-fil-A was hit with graffiti reading, "Tastes Like Hate."

The artsy take on the blow-up featured ...

... a cow with a paint brush, perhaps suggesting that beef was a suitable alternative to gay-bashing chicken fare.

Torrance police Sgt. Jennifer Uyeda told the Weekly cops got the call about the graffiti at the store's "South Bay" location, at 18200 Hawthorne Blvd., about 6:15 a.m. today.

The caller, however, wasn't a exactly a concerned citizen, Uyeda said: It was Fox 11 News, which, along with other TV outlets, were tipped of by an anonymous caller who clearly wanted the world to see this message.

It worked.

Cops consider the situation to be vandalism and not a hate crime, unless reverse hate crime counts.

Officers will be patrolling all three Chick-fil-A restaurants in Torrance, Uyeda said:

We will be keep an eye on them not only today but throughout the course of this controversy.

While former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee rallied the intolerant to observe "Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day" this week -- spiking the chain's sales -- some supporters of same-sex marriage rights are going with a long-term strategy of boycotting the restaurants.

The back-and-forth can feel like watching two different Americas that hardly know each other.
