Bob Hertzberg Accuses Carmen Trutanich Of "Thuggery" Over Campaign Finance Lawsuit

Is anyone aware that Steven Lowe conspired with Allison Hart of Lavely and Singer in casee 8CA10441 and the civil suit filed in Santa Monica against Mathilde Notaro? Is anyone aware of how dirty Steven Lowe is and how he steals money from clients and then encourages those who pay him, to dismiss their lawsuits.He does not reveal his conflicts of interest and he has been sued many times. Please, investigate Lowe and Lavely and Singer and you will find some incredible dirt.

Was it just a chance, a happy luck that Berger always knew how to attack Nuch Trutanich, or it was conspiracy to destroy a working class boy who made good. They work to steal Nuch's District Attorney job so much that everyone knows it but noone says it. 

Mayor Sam has an EXCLUSIVE tonight where they begin to piece together the Shallman web of playing all sides of the fence.  A local blog is providing much better reporting on this story than the major publications in the City.   Zahneiser and Maddaus didn't do any investigative reporting, just grabbed some unsubstantiated sensational headlines with no investigation or analysis.  The Mayor Sam boys are eating their lunch. Keep up the good work guys.  You're onto something big.

Most these posts read as though they came from that low class limey cyber troll David Berger, the biggest embarrassment to the D.A's office since Chris Darden and Marcia Clark.   He writes all these comments under FAKE names, but basicaly says the same thing.

He isn't fooling anyone.  He thinks he's a player but everyone knows he's a pathetic loser after coming in 5th in the last City Atorney election.  All the candidates he's promoting will also end up losers in the coming months including Alan Jackson, Kevin James, and Greg Smith.

He isn't even man enough to use his own name.  He hides behind Jack Webb's TV show and photo. What a sore excuse for a human being.

He's so jealous of Trutanich it spews out of his eyes.  It is hillarious how he couldn't last 9 months in the City Attorney's office.  They finally had to show him the door after it was discovered he was part of a sorted financial scheme to defraud funds from a local Los Angeles businessman.

Jackie Lacey has told many of us that she's sending Berger back to Lancaster as soon as she takes office.  She's admitted to several of us that he is a complete embarrassment to the D.A's office.

I love the way Trutanich is trying to reinvent history. He is the most ineffective self-aggrandizing buffoon to occupy the City Attorney's office. He makes Rocky Delgadillo look like a success, and by the way, let's not forget that Lie-Tanich worked for Rocky for a while, and Lie-Tanich never ever said a bad word about Rocky. If Shallman has ripped Lie-Tannich off, then that will come out in the court case, but as usual, Lie-Tanich is trying the case in the media, just like everything else he does. Do you remember the criminal aspects investigation into AEG - whatever happened to that? Lie-Tanich got his headline and moved on. Now he's boasting and bragging about lawsuits he has filed against Deutche Bank and US Bank and making out like they're done deals - it is BS on steroids. Nearly all of his billboard cases collapsed, he couldn't prosecute Occupy LA trespassers, and he prosecuted 31% less gang cases and filed less gang injunctions than Rocky. He is a phony and a looser.

Lie-Tanich has destroyed the morale at the City Attorney's office. He has made laughing stocks out of experienced professionals who bullies and bamboozles with his pathetic insistence that they use his 'Porcupine Defense.' That schoolyard thug mentality has cost the City millions, and they are ready to go public with the figures at the right time. The real people of the City Attorney's office were hoping and praying that he would win the DA race so that he would leave office sooner, but now they are stuck with him until June 30, 2013, they are determined to do whatever it takes to take him out. The sooner the better.

Trutanich can learn from Truman - The Buck Stops Here! Shallman may be a bad guy and may have mismanaged Trutanich's campaign, but Trutanich is responsible for selecting Shallman and is also responsible for not having the right people oversee his campaign.

Also Trutanich's behavior from attempting to change his job title from City Attorney to something else, for breaking his 2009 campaign pledge, and for many other mistakes in judgement or character all contributed to the outcome of his failure in the DA race.

Perhaps Trutanich needs a timeout for reflection.

Now getting back to the 2013 City Attorney race, that will be a tough one. I am no fan of the revolving door politicians milking off the working class taxpayers - That is what Mike Feuer is about. I will have to look at the other two choices and see if one stands out or if its a "lesser of evils" scenario.

Really what this is all about is Trutanich’s greed and corruption.  It has already been established that he has zero credibility and is a pathological liar.

Trutanich’s latest campaign filing shows he has almost no money in his campaign account.  He certainly can’t raise money into a campaign committee that is now defunct.  The only way he can pay his consultant is to write him a personal check—which he can’t do because he is personally bankrupt.  Why do you think he refused to accept a reduced salary as City Attorney? 

What do deadbeats do when they don’t want to pay their bills?  They dispute the charges.   He’s claiming Shallman hasn’t provided receipts.  Shallman says he has “fully documented” the expenses.   Someone isn’t telling the truth.  At some point soon that will likely become obvious.  Only one of them is motivated to lie.  Trutanich.  He doesn’t want to pay and Shallman wants to get paid.

Trutanich is like Al Capone when it comes to his money.  Following the money to the accountant and you'll find his corruption.  It's common knowledge that his first accountant resigned because of Trutanich’s illegal fundraising.  The FPPC is already looking into this.  Do you think his current accountant is going to lie to protect Trutanich?  Not likely.

Trutanich also collected tens of thousand of dollars in illegal donations well after the financial reporting periods ended and even forced contributors to commit fraud by back dating their checks.  An FPPC investigation will show that virtually every check dated on the last day of any given reporting period was falsely designated in order to inflate his fundraising numbers.  Those of us who were working on other campaigns for DA against Trutanich saw this pattern.  Watch for this to happen again over the next few days in his rush to raise money for his City Attorney account.  Today is the last day he can accept checks for the 9/30 reporting period.

Carmen Trutanich is not only a pathological liar and deadbeat.  He’s the most corrupt politician in Los Angeles.  

Hertzberg is just another Los Angeles Jew feeding at the tit of the Government and calling it "public service"- They are all alike from camel nosed Mike Feuer to that fat lazy bastard Zev Yaroslavsky to former cable company whore Bill Rosendahl. There shouldn't be term limits on politicians, there should be limits on how many Jews can be in office at any one time. 

The campaign for L.A. City Attorney just got a whole lot more interesting. Tomight Greg Smith, the famous Beverly Hills Personal Injury Lawyer told a crowd that he would be dropping out of the race.  He gave himself until September 30th, and  the support just wasn't there. He only raised a hundred thousand dollars.  He said he would announce it next week.

 Lets stop all this ego blowing wanna be writers, and still others that just jump on the bandwagon of the 15 minute fame. One Fact remains true, in this country we are intitled to a receipt for any perchase we make for goods or service, you need a receipt, and it's that simple, it doesn't matter who Carmen is or if Shallman goes to church every day, or who that rat eating alley cat Bob Hertzberg is representing now.  Shallman if you have nothing to hide, then do the ethical thing, give your client what is legally his, I wonder if Babo Hertzberg knows how to say : hand over the receipts

This dispute could have been easily settled a long time ago if political consultant John Shallman—instead of name-calling - had provided City Attorney Carmen Trutanich, his former client, with the documentation to explain how he spent $1.8 million of campaign funds entrusted to him by Trutanich.

If Shallman were a mechanic and he surprised a customer, who came in for a lube job, with an unexplained $1,800 bill, the customer would be justified in asking for an explanation. That is all that Trutanich wants—an explanation, backed by documents. But now we're talking about $1.8 million, not $1,800.

Shallman—who now works for Michael Feuer, Trutanich's rival in the city attorney's race—refuses to turn over the records however. Is Shallman hoping to collect on a "phony debt", which appeared about the same time Shallman signed up as Feuer's campaign consultant, in order to damage Trutanich's reelection?

Trutanich's refusal to be a pushover in this dispute should sound familiar. After all, city attorney Trutanich has an unequaled record of protecting consumers and taxpayers, an excellent record of not being a pushover.

Just last week Trutanich's office secured a $1.1 million settlement from Ralph's grocery markets who he accused of overcharging its customers—by putting its thumb, in essence, on the meat, fruit and vegetable scales.

Trutanich is the city attorney who has saved taxpayers from $235 million in frivolous lawsuits, winning 112 out of 129 liability suits against the city and its taxpayers; he's the city attorney who went after deadbeats who owed the city millions of dollars in fees and taxes and collected them—at a rate two times better than that of his predecessor; he's the city attorney who slashed the city's dependence on outside attorneys, cutting back to save the city tens of millions of dollars in expensive and unnecessary legal fees; and he's the city attorney now suing Northern Trust, alleging that this giant financial firm—as an adviser to the city's pension system—cost the city tens of millions of dollars because of its risky bets with the city's money.

And Trutanich did all this with less after his office budget was repeatedly cut because of the city's budget crisis.

Trutanich has stood up for Los Angeles' consumer-taxpayers. Now he's standing up for his own rights in this dispute with Shallman.

No one wants a pushover in the City Attorney's office. And no one wants a city attorney who's a career Sacramento politician with a negligible record in the courtroom, who has been Beverly Hills' representative in the state legislature and who is being thrown out of the state assembly by voter-approved term limits (that he opposed). That would be Shallman's current client, Michael Feuer.

The city needs a strong, independent and innovative city attorney. Carmen Trutanich is that guy.

Bob Hertzberg is one of the sleaziest pols out there. He was rejected by the voters of L.A. when he ran for Mayor. Ever since then he's been trying to get back in the game. He was thrown off Trutanich's transition team.  He was thrown off Antonio Villaraigosa's transition team.  He hangs out with Arnold Schwarznegger.  What more do you need to know? He's always hugs everyone, then they check their wallet.

Since when did Trutanich need to get Hertzberg's approval to sue his former CONsultant for documents?  These guys are all a rats nest of sleaze and corruption.  Anyone who denies that is lying.  Ever since Hertzberg started proimoting Wendy Greuel, she lost my vote. If she's going to hang out with these kinds of low lifes, I need to look elsewhere.  Sorry.

I stumbled across this article and felt compelled late tonight to make a statement about Mr. Shallman and not Mr. Trutanich.  I am an LAUSD teacher who watched many years ago in utter amazement as Mr. Shallman helped elect Loretta Sanchez to Congress over another bully by the name of B-1 Bob Dornan.  I went down to Santa Ana and walked precincts for this woman.  I was inspired and impressed by her young campaign manager.  I couldn't forget him.  The shocking upset he pulled off was nothing less than genius.  Since that time, Mr. Shallman has won an enormous number of campaigns and it has been my pleasure to follow his career winning campaigns at all levels in every community in Los Angeles.  He is truly admired and respected by most in the political establishment.  His reputation is impeccable.  Trutanich's upset victory over Jack Weiss shocked everyone.  Knowing what we now know about Mr. Trutanich, we must again marvel at what Mr. Shallman was able to pull off.  Talk about lipstick on a pig.  I saw Mr. Shallman recently when he spoke at a convention for classroom teachers.  He's simply extraordinary.  Brilliant, funny and insightful.  I'm glad Mr. Hertzberg stood up for him.  A class act.   I met Mr. Trutanich at a Sherman Oaks Homeowner's meeting where he introduced Mr. Shallman and heaped such high praise upon him you would have thought he walked on water.  Trutanich has a job today because of him.  To not pay him for his services after losing the DA's race is immoral.  Whatever Mr. Shallman charged you, Mr. Trutanich, it wasn't enough.  He deserves better and so do your constituents.

LIE-tanich is at it again. "Carmine" is just a little less classy version of sleazy prosecutor "Honest" Steve Cooley. Cooley is a crook who was able to hide his evil ways for years until his friend Randy Adams raped the City of Bell and got away with it thanks to good old Steve. Trutanich is no better than the man he replaced, Rockhard "Mr. Billboard" DelgaDILDO. Remember HIM and his crazy wife who liked to commit hit and runs while improperly driving City owned cars? I swear, the last honest CIty Attorney we had was the inept Jimmy Hahn. I'm so glad I live in South Gate where we have the guts to put our crooked elected officials in prison! Except for that idiot police chief we had, Rick "Sorry I Shot My Wife" Lopez. 

Kudos to Bob Hertzberg for finally going public with his remarks about Trutanich. Hertzberg joins the long list of former supporters who have seen this arrogant asshole throw away the trust that was placed in him while he squandered any political capital he ever had on advancing his personal agenda.

Trutanich lost the DA race so comprehensively that it surprised many who had lost faith in our electoral process. But LA voters proved to have more common sense than Trutanich gambled on them not having, and the message they sent to Trutanich was loud and clear "Get out of town, by sundown."

For Trutanich to try to now blame anyone but himself for his downfall is pathetic. He stood firmly behind each and every one of his lies, or 'missteps' as he prefers to call them. It started with his lie about supporting Laura Chick, then he claimed there were 'criminal aspects' to the Michael Jackson memorial and he next stabbed the medical marijuana patients who supported him in the back after promising to help them. He tried to foist a police state like 'ACE' Program on LA that would have given him Grand Jury powers and made him judge jury and executioner for cases involving minor violations of the City Code. He caused a Jewish businessman to be arrested and hauled off to jail on $1M bail while he was have Sabbath dinner with his family over a billboard. He screwed up simple trespass cases involving Occupy LA protesters, blaming LAPD for 'paperwork errors.' 

He screwed LA's BEST Afterschool Program out of the $100k he owes them, reluctantly giving them ten cents in the dollar and a fistful of IOUs and claimed that was full and final payment. Now he's trying to weasel his way out of $166k he owes his former campaign consultant, what a surprise. Hertzberg is right, Trutanich is a disgrace and the worst possible example of a shady politician.

That's right same last name as the fraud running; in fact unfortunately related to him. The silver lining . . . I can tell you first hand that he is a FRAUD. Don't believe one positive thing you read about him. Believe me, as a family member I have witnessed first hand for the past 30 years his love for himself and what he can personally achieve––financially and otherwise––while cloaked in a shroud of doing good for others. For those of you fooled by him (and it seems like quite a few), don't be taken in! On a personal note: for any Harbor City residents that may be reading this, your neighbor Nuch lovingly calls his NEW, TEMPORARY home of Harbor City "Harbor Shitty". -       While acting as a youth soccer coach in 1989, Trutanich sued the league for refusing to reschedule a game when several of his players came down with the flu.

-       In 1976 Trutanich slipped and fell in a Vons. He sued, claiming he had suffered damages of $100,000.

-       As a private attorney in 1999, Trutanich represented Victor Nilsen in a suit against his employer, the Port of L.A. and the City of L.A. for exposing him to dangerous levels of petroleum coke dust. Nilsen was later charged and convicted of tampering with the monitoring equipment in order to boost the readings for petroleum coke dust.

-       In 1995, Trutanich purchased a minivan from a Tony Tonsich, a friend who owned a used car lot. The owner of the used car, Robert Hunt, had left the car at the lot on consignment and believed that Tonsich sold the car to Trutanich for less than it was worth because of their friendship and the fact that Trutanich’s firm employed Tonsich’s son. Hunt repossessed the vehicle, and Trutanich sued him for “emotional distress” and “nervous system damage.”

Hey Carmen, can voters sue YOU for causing "nervous system damage"?

I don't care for Shallman, but I respect his ability as a campaign strategist who has been extremely successful and effective. Shallman was faced with Mission Impossible with Truanich's campaign to become District Attorney. The number of times Trutanich was exposed as having blatantly lied to voters has been well documented in the LA Weekly, as well as other establishment media and the blogs. Simply put, even Shallman couldn't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Trutanich stank. He was the worst of all possible candidates with a record of being a bully, thug and liar.

For Trutanich to now claim he is a 'victim' so that he can delay paying his debts will immediately remind readers of the other time Trutanich (falsely) claimed to be a victim - the Green Meadows Park incident where Trutanich claimed he was the victim of an assassination attempt, and was 'surrounded and shot at by gangmembers.'

Shallman is no saint, but he did the best job he can with the material he has to work with. For Trutanich to now blame Shallman for his downfall is the classic ranting  of an egocentric pathological liar. My prediction, Trutanich loses this lawsuit, just like he lost the lawsuit over trying to call himself 'LA Chief Criminal Prosecutor, just like he lost the DA race, and just like he will lose his re-election bid. 

Bob Hertzberg is one of the most prominent and respected public figures in California.  He served as the Chairman of Trutanich's transition team.  He was Trutanich's #1 go to guy.  I can't imagine anything more embarrassing to Trutanich than to have one of his top supporters, a former Speaker of the State of California, call him an unethical, dishonest thug.  That he's lost all confidence in his judgment and his morality.  You couldn't choose stronger words from a more reputable person of the highest moral character.   We rarely get to see this level of brutal honesty from leaders today.  They usually go out of their way to avoid such a robust condemnation--unless they are running against each other.  This is coming from Trutanich's own Chairperson.  It's a stunning blow to Trutanich and probably the most important single event in Trutanich's reelection effort bid.  Chick was bad, but she was a supporter of Mike Feuer.  To lose Hertzberg is irreversibly damaging for Trutanich.  He should consider withdrawing from public life.  Those who know him hate him.  Those who know of him hate him.   That doesn't leave anyone else.
