It's true. Some of Porn Valley's top performers are rallying against a measure that will be on the November ballot in Los Angeles County: Measure B would at least attempt to enforce condom use on adult video sets.

According to an industry source, participating stars will include Kayden Kross, Teagan Presley, Jessie Andrews, Skin Diamond, Christy Canyon, Kiki Daire and more.

The AIDS Healthcare Foundation this week announced it's launching its yes-on-B campaign with a series of ads on MSNBC, Fox News and elsewhere locally.

The group has been on a years-long campaign to get the porn industry to use condoms and was successful in forcing the L.A. City Council to enact a mandatory prophylactics rule for on-location adult video productions in town.

The county rule would require porn shoots in most parts of greater L.A. to obtain massage parlor-type permits and ensure condom use.

The industry has rallied against such efforts, saying that consumers won't buy condom porn, that its monthly STD testing of performers works, and that it would violate porn stars' freedom to express themselves sans protection.

The website The Real Porn Wiki Leaks yesterday announced that it is organizing the "No on Measure B" campaign.

The t-shirts will cost $20 a piece, with at least some of the revenues going toward an advertising war chest for the No side. Signed shirts will be $30 and "personalized" ones will be $40.

Adult Wiki Media founder Sean Tompkins warns that, while the AIDS Healthcare Foundation has millions it could spend on its ads, the porn stars have a huge following of millions via social media:

I'm voting yes, because I'm a CA Certified Massage Therapist who practices in Los Angeles. I spent over 5K to go to school and learn my trade. Just for perspective I have had to get fingerprints, blood tests for the LAPD, FBI background checks, permits, business licenses, and liability insurance to practice legitimate massage therapy that actually helps people with their pain and suffering. Meanwhile thanks to the unregulated sex industry running rampant in Los Angeles with it's bogus "massage parlours," my profession here is still a bit of a joke. Not everyone who does porn is a "porn star" despite what they say. What do you guys think the rest of them do? So let me ask you, if I have to do all that just to practice massage therapy, why should sex industry workers who CAN SPREAD HIV AND AIDS get special exemption from regulation?

Honestly, I don't mind looking at Condoms in porn. Someone just tested Positive in Los Angeles, for HIV. AIM was shut down due to this, as the woman tested positive there and AIM is supposed to be the source in that industry of Testing and Reporting. However, her test went unreported and so many people may have been exposed. Why wouldn't you wanna use condoms in such an industry? They're all under the impression that customers don't wanna see a condom. Well, I think they're wrong.

 @nickeast2  @AngelOfTruth If James Deen says he has never contracted an STD, than we have no reason not to believe him.  As far you acting in 1991, it is 2012 now, the industry is much different than it was 20 years ago.  James Deen & Stoya are fighting for their rights, & I support that.  It should be the performer's choice.  Producers may prefer no condoms, but they wouldn't deny someone the right to wear them.

 @nickeast2  @AngelOfTruth You say the difference is that outsiders are speaking for performers, but James Deen is not an outsider.  If he said he's never contracted an STD, than I believe him.  I've seen porn featuring a condom, so performers can use them.  But I understand this is not the majority, & most companies would prefer you not use them.  In a perfect world, a performer could use a condom whenever wanted, & still get as many roles as other model.  Unfortunately, porn is not immune to economics.  Consumers prefer no condom, & you can't force people to buy someone they don't want.  Many companies have tried going condom only & failed.  Wicked pictures might be the only company that truly made it.

 @ReverendJohn Everyone has the right to decide for themselves whether or not to use condoms.  You wouldn't force people to use condoms in their personal life, how is it right to force someone to use condoms on porn sets?  And the fact that you think it's immature for performers not to use condoms, shows you are uneducated about porn.  As Michael said, performers are tested every 28 days, so precautions are definitely taken.

 @nickeast2  The incident that happened with Mr. Marcus was terrible, & I definitely wouldn't be against it if he was sued for forging his test.  But the industry learned from his mistakes, & now is stronger than ever.  You named Wicked pictures because that is the only company that went condom only & survived.  Other companies tried to go condom only & went bankrupt.  And you say "how many performers" have to say they don't have a choice, but so far I've only heard you & anti porn crusaders say that.  I do listen to the performers, & most of them are against Measure B.

 @nickeast2  I understand what you're saying.  Production companies would rather performers did not wear condoms as consumers won't pay for condom porn.  But performers still have a chose.  If condoms were forced in porn, performers would not have a choice at all.  Measure B is not the answer.  It violate's performer's rights & it would surely put the porn industry in the hole.  Also wearing condoms in porn isn't necessary, performers are tested every 14-28 days, so safety precautions are in place.  This system has been working for the porn industry for years, & as they say, "if it's not broken, don't fix it."

Not a single active performer has come out in favor of Measure B because it's an industry-killer. It's not just condoms, it's face shields and dental dams and permit fees way above what adult producers can carry.

They deserve comprehensive testing, not a flimsy piece of latex that's only 85% effective at the job it was designed to do (preventing pregnancy), which has a 20-25% failure rate on set; which does not offer protection from STIs such as syphilis which affect ares not covered by a condom; which contains Nitrosamines -- a regulated chemical known to cause cancer; and which, even in its unstretched state, contains pores large enough for HIV and other STIs to pass right through.
