Akingide.
Cops are looking for Akingide Cole of Palmdale because, they say, he took $1.6 million in chips from the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas.

That's quite a haul.

Authorities allege the 31-year-old from the L.A. area did it earlier this month by somehow sneaking into "a closed area of the casino" and fleeing with the goods -- high-denomination chips:

It happened about 6 a.m. on Oct. 10, according to the L.A. Sheriff's Department, which issued a "wanted" press bulletin regarding the theft:

The suspect.

... The suspect was able to gain access into a closed area of the casino from which he removed the chips of various values. There were no weapons involved in this crime, and no confrontation occurred between the suspect and others during this incident.

Cole is described as a 6-foot-tall African-American who weighs 225 pounds and has a faux-hawk type haircut, a goatee and "a large fibrous growth on his left earlobe."

What we want to know is, how is he (allegedly) going to cash in those chips now?

Maybe the suspect is trying to be a modern-day, Democratic Robin Hood. The Venetian is owned by Sheldon Adelson, a major critic of President Obama, who has dedicated millions to Republican super-PAC efforts to unseat him.

In any case, the Las Vegas Metro Police Department states:

... Anyone who was in the area of the Venetian Hotel / Casino on Wednesday, October 10, 2012, shortly after 6 a.m. who may have observed Cole, or anyone with any information about this crime or the whereabouts of Cole, is asked to call the LVMPD Tourist Crimes Unit at 828-3204.

I always thought that in order to cash in high chips, they have to verify where you played? Thought they have a special chip inside the chip for theft purposes. Like 25k chips? Anyone know? Regardless, he's screwed.
